The world is a mysterious place, with many unexplained things. What is an undeniable fact though is that Gods walk among mortals, disguising themselves as humans to live normal everyday lives.
Desuhiko Thunderbolt, God of the Sun, is a popular performer who loves to sing for his fans. His favorite person in the universe however is Yuma Kokohead, God of the Moon. The two have a special bond even the other planet gods don't fully understand, but the two don't mind.
While they just want to live in peace among mortals, something is happening that has caught all the gods interest. The Sun, Moon and all other planetary bodies have not seen Kanai Ward for months at this point. The gods need to step in and solve this mystery before it gets out of hand and makes the mortals worry. Although they all have a strong suspicion that Yomi Hellsmile, God of Pluto, has something to do with it. What is actually happening though?

The murder cases at Aetheria Academy have all been resolved. Karen Stromwell was arrested...and consequently executed. The schoolgirls of Aetheria have been spared, whether or not they were involved with the case. Life in Kanai Ward goes on.
... It's not easy finding a path forward for some people. But Aiko would want them to live, and to be happy. So her dear friends try their best to honor that wish. Even if Karen's death leaves a sour taste in their mouth... Damn that Yomi Hellsmile. He ruins everything...
The detectives carry on trying to help the citizens of Kanai Ward and investigating Kanai Ward's Ultimate Secret, unknowing of the attack that would be hitting their sub in just a few weeks... Amaterasu is dragging their name through the mud, making them a clear target of scorn, so it's harder to earn peoples' trust... They've got a few people in their corner, but that's only a small comfort.
Each chapter will focus on a NDA detective, episodic format. All takes place before Chapter 3.

Hopefully the detectives can do something to change that. Little by little. And while inspiring hope in the townspeople, forge bonds with each other that can weather the oncoming storms. Each chapter will feature at least one duo of detectives, going about their daily investigations, duties, and downtime. There will be highs and lows as they go about their lives, and learn to put up with each other.

In another world... This same man plans a little TOO cautiously, brings something aboard that wasn't there in the other worldline. One might think this would change very little. It's just a contingency.
... But changes in the timeline create ripples. Pucci takes a little more interest in the amnesiac. Yuma passes out in front of the other detectives as opposed to the restroom, and now the Master Detectives are aware of the incapacitation plot. Suddenly, the planned serial murder becomes more complicated.
How will the events aboard the Amaterasu Express pan out differently...? Will it even matter, by the time they reach Kanai Ward?

For those who have played Rain Code, do be aware that some characters (specifically the main one) may not act the same as in the game. This is a deliberate choice. If you dislike such things, this is your warning.
