Mitsuki puts a plate of pancakes in front of Sogo. When Sogo moves his hand from scratching at his shoulder to pick up the knife, Mitsuki notices blood on his fingertips.
“Whoa, Sogo, you’re bleeding!” Mitsuki moves to lift Sogo’s tee shirt sleeve and see the wound, but Sogo claps a hand over his shoulder in record time.
“I—I—I’m okay!” Sogo says, looking at Mitsuki with wide, terrified eyes, breathing shallowly. “I—I—I—I’ll go wash up in the bathroom,” he says, getting up and starting to rush off before Mitsuki grabs his other shoulder, stopping him in his tracks.
“You don’t look good, Sogo. Stay here, I’ll clean it,” Mitsuki says, guiding Sogo back onto the stool. Sogo doesn’t say anything while Mitsuki wets a clean cloth, and Mitsuki notices his hand shaking violently when he pries it away from his shoulder. Mitsuki starts to lift up the sleeve.
“We really need to get you a fidget toy or something so you stop scra—”
Mitsuki sees cuts.
Multiple thin, red streaks across Sogo’s shoulder, an equal distance apart. Scabbed over, save for the spots that are actively bleeding from being scratched at.
