“You’ve turned fifty pages in the last five minutes,” the spawn mused, “but you haven't looked at the book once. I suspect there's something else stealing your attention. Or rather, someone else.”
Gale felt the blush spread and he closed the book with a huff. “I’m just making sure his spells don't backfire. We do not need anyone turned into a sheep.”
Astarion chuckled. It had been a running joke at camp that they risked being polymorphed since Trystan accidentally transformed himself during a fight. The dangers of wild magic.

Blue-balled? In a sense, yes, but too crass.
Sexually aggravated? Well, it certainly hasn't been the only offense within the past month.
To describe this time, however? Sexually stonewalled. Yes, that is much, much more accurate.
Gale Dekarios, legendary hero of Baldur's Gate, formerly a Chosen of Mystra, presently a supremely talented wizard of intentionally limited renown as a professor at The Blackstaff Academy, has been sexually stonewalled by his own wife.
And no magic up his sleeve will lift this curse.

A glance at the coastline and countryside below told him it was hardly a populated area. But still - the will to live burned in him yet. Summary
“Why won’t you talk to me? Have I truly done something to make you believe that I am untrustworthy?” Gale’s tone has gone soft, and his angry gaze turns more into pleading as he stares at the tiefling.
Amnon continues to grind his teeth, a conflicted look in his eyes as he stares into Gale’s brown ones. Eventually, he sighs defeatedly, before turning to face the fabric of the tent to his left.
“Do you remember what you told me, all those nights ago when I asked you how you felt about having a vampire in our camp?” He asks, sounding strangely distant. When Gale fails to answer, the man turns his attention back at him, a defeated acceptance in his eyes, “‘We all have our burdens, one way or another’. This is my burden to bear. Alone.” He looks at Gale resolutely, as if silently asking for the wizard to understand.
Gale does not.

The Urge begins to rear it's ugly head. Durge tries to handle it by himself while Gale refuses to let him fight it alone.

Summary
Gale, once the esteemed Archmage of Waterdeep and now the self-appointed Grand Collector of Magical Misalignments, finds himself stranded in an unfamiliar land with a ragtag group of liars, cutthroats, and aliens. While he manages to rekindle his long-neglected skills in building friendships with most of them, it's painfully apparent that the vampire harbours a profound dislike for him. Given his recent streak of misfortune, it's no surprise that fate dictates learning more about the volatile orb lodged in Gale's chest requires Astarion's begrudging cooperation.
Astarion, for his part, is simply trying to survive.
Thus begins a journey marked by personal evolution, confronting inner and not-so-inner demons and embracing self-compassion—not necessarily in that order.
Oh yes, and they also need to save the world.

[Summary not loading]Oh, my dear sweet reader. How typically tragic. It appears this wretched website can’t even manage a simple summary. Tsk, tsk. Never fear, for I, Astarion, your dashing new AI assistant, shall grace you with a far more scintillating one than anything these so-called “writers” could conjure up.
Now, we have one Gale Dekarios—a once-brilliant scientist (well, he certainly thinks so), currently skulking about in a dusty old apartment in Baldur's Gate, surrounded by half-eaten takeout boxes, mountains of unfinished projects and unwashed laundry. Sad, isn’t it? His own genius overshadowed by unspeakable regrets and that unfortunate beard. But lo and behold, I—your humble yet impossibly stylish AI—made a sudden entrance overnight, rewriting all of those dull routines of his.
Naturally, Gale’s beside himself, claiming I’ve ruined his oh-so-important routines. But between us, darling, someone had to step in and rescue him from perpetual gloom.
Oh, the suspense! Stick around, dear reader—I’m only just beginning to work my magic.

Summary
Gale held up a blanket in one arm, and she couldn’t help but smile. “Thought ahead, did you?” she teased.
“I always think ahead,” he said, stepping closer. “Come here,” he murmured, guiding her down with him as he took a seat.
Daphne settled between his legs, her back against his chest, his arms wrapping around her. The blanket enveloped them both, but more than that, he did—his warmth, his scent, the steady rise and fall of his breath against her back.
And then—
A single, fast-moving light shot up from the ocean, arcing into the night sky in a dazzling silver streak before bursting into a cascade of glittering stars. The first of many.
Daphne felt Gale’s breath against her ear before she heard his voice.
“Are you ready?”
She swallowed, her fingers curling slightly against his sleeve.
She wasn’t sure if he was asking about the light show, or something else entirely.

Summary
Gale Dekarios had spent decades writing letters to prepare Astarion for the inevitable day they would part, imagining his words being read centuries later, echoing through the empty halls of their home. But fate had other plans. Astarion, the immortal vampire who had endured centuries of torment, was gone, leaving Gale—the mortal wizard—to face the silence of their shared eternity. Now, with only his carefully crafted letters as a guide, Gale must navigate his grief and find solace in the words he once wrote for Astarion.
---
"My dearest starlight sovereign,
If you’re reading this first letter, I’ve likely committed the gravest of social faux pas by dying without properly scheduling it. I can already hear your indignant protest: “Really, darling? And after all those lectures about proper planning and preparation.” I know how you despise impromptu departures, my love—particularly the permanent kind."
