Summary
Wings of Fire: Heart of Jade Mountain is an epic coming-of-age saga centered around Buck, a young human boy suffering from trauma relating to the loss of his parents during a dragon attack on his hometown. Harboring a deep hatred of dragons, he is nonetheless forced to enter a wider world of interspecies interaction when he is enrolled against his will into Jade Mountain Academy's first human class of students.
However, unbeknownst to Buck, forces on both the dragon and human side are building, and Buck may very well become the central figure in the battle for the future of Pyrrhia. A savage dragon terrorist, a mysterious being from the Third Moon, and an enigmatic lodgekeeper are some of Buck's encounters on his journey, which will test Buck's bravery and perhaps allow him to move on from his past and embrace a bright new world of human-dragon peace.
As Heart of Jade Mountain is loosely based on the canon Wings of Fire series and is meant to serve as a continuation of it, spoilers for the series will be present, including Legends: Dragonslayer and the latest book as of the time of writing, The Flames of Hope.

Midnight is a female Nightwing, and her pronouns are she/her.
Now for her backstory:
She was born under three moons, giving her POWERFUL MINDREADING AND PROPHECY TELLING. Her mother despised her for it, but her father loved her no matter what. So her parents had arguments, until at one point, the argument turned into a full-claw duel. Her mother killed her father, getting her punished by being put into the dungeons - which wasn't really good when the volcano erupted, so her mother is probably melted and burning right now! So Midnight raised herself. When Glory became Queen of both Nightwings and Rainwings, Midnight was only five years old. Glory adopted her with Deathbringer of the nightwings(yes I ship them super hard okay). Six months later, when Jade Mountain Academy opened, Midnight went there with Moonwatcher. She didn’t hate Moon like the other Nightwings had, because she understood that Moon’s mother, Secretkeeper, had just wanted her daughter to be safe from the volcano. -

The Dragonets are a ragtag mercenary group, doing the dirty work of the various corporations that now make up the continent. It was this or slaving their lives in the mines. This is the story of 5 dragonets and their survival in a broken world and a war that could last forever.
