Urahara Kisuke, one of Bleach's most intriguing characters, was severely mishandled by the author, who failed to utilize his full potential. Initially introduced as an enigmatic genius with deep ties to Soul Society’s history, his role diminished into a convenient plot device rather than a fully realized character. His intelligence and influence should have had greater narrative weight, yet he was sidelined or reduced to an exposition tool when convenient. Instead of a satisfying character arc, he was left in the background while less compelling figures took the spotlight.
