Shiro had to drink to get through each day. It wasn’t his fault. He had moved on with his life. He was happily married to his husband, Adam. That was, until the neighbors moved in next door. A husband and wife, which would have been fine under normal circumstances. Except the husband was Shiro’s ex from several years ago. And that ex — Lance — was acting like nothing had ever happened between them. But to Shiro, the past was finally catching up to him, and he was slowly losing his grip on reality.

That didn't mean it wasn't ugly, though.
Years later, college ready to ruin them and make their dream of becoming teachers very hard to achieve, the both of them have to face a little problem.
Fate seems to have brought them together again, since they are roommates.

Despite returning to Earth safe and sound (mostly), finding out Adam was thankfully alright, working together to stop the galra invasion and finally killing Sendak, Shiro and Adam still hadn't had a proper conversation yet.
As if that wasn't painful enough, the coalition needed someone to infiltrate and attend a ball on an alien planet to prevent an attack from a dangerous rebel group. Shiro was quick to volunteer.
What he hadn't expected was Adam deciding to go with him and both of them being forced to act like a couple, for the first time in years.
