There are glimpses of a life she can’t remember. Grey eyes, the start of creation, the imprint of a holly leaf against her skin under the collarbone. There is gentle hands curled around her and spells whispered in Sindar and Quenya as they watch the ages pass.
Then she cast down by the Valar for a singular purpose: To be the defender of those who cannot defend themselves against Sauron. Whereas the Stranger lands with the Harfoots, she lands within Eregion’s rivers.
Celebrimbor calls her Lirien.

Summary
After the end of season 2, the elves are building a haven in what will become Imladris and gathering their armies to strike back against Sauron. The scar left above Galadriel's heart by the spike of Morgoth's crown is healing. They may have lost the battle, but they have not yet lost the war.
And yet sometimes that scar aches. Sometimes she hears Halbrand's voice calling to her. And when two masked figures calling themselves Gaudrim arrive from Rhûn, saying they are elves of long-lost Doriath, Galadriel will not be the only one who finds healing a more complicated thing than it first appears.
(featuring: my those-Gaudrim-are-Sindarin-elves theory, Galadriel's crown stab injury as a Morgul-wound type of thing, masks, healing, and the overlap between marriage bonds and sorcery bonds.)

It’s as if he can finally turn and confront this land in all its entirety, this hellish distant prison that’s kept him trapped and held here for so long. He wants to hate this place but he finds that he can’t; he only pities it, this land which was meant to be green and is not, this land that whispers to him its grief for all its lost trees.
The Stranger is Gandalf, Celeborn is one of the Gaudrim, and a thousand years later in Lothlórien they reminisce together about missing memories and the importance of trees.
