Summary
Wayne stands up, folding his his news paper, “I got a shift in a few hours, but I’ll swing by in a couple of days, okay? Hopefully you’ll be out soon. I don’t know what the hell happened and I don’t think I want to know, but you’re going to like the new trailer, your rooms twice as big as the old one – Steve’s been in and out setting shit up for you.”
“Uh hu, and since when has he been Steve?”
“Since he watched the Pacers game with me, anyway, I’ll see you.”
What the fuck! Steve gets to watch the – never mind, get the paper! Get the paper Eddie! At least get the fucking-
“Hey, Uncle Wayne? You finished with the paper? I want the. The uhm. I want to do the cross word?”
Wayne frowns at him, but comes back to leave the rolled up paper for him.
Right, now open to the sports page and stare at it.
I don’t even-
I really don’t care. I’m reading about fucking elves and dragons, you can do this.
Eddie sighs, because, to be fair, Billy is right.

Summary
He gives his outstretched hand a pointed look. “So again I ask…what do you say, my liege?”
Steve’s lips twitch. Eddie thinks he’s gonna say no. Which is dumb. They’ll be pretending to date in front of Steve’s parents for one day tops. It’s not like it’s gonna be x-rated. This’ll be fine. It’ll be fun. If Steve says yes.
Eddie watches as the guy filters through a number of emotions, contemplating it all. People say shit about Steve being dumb, but Eddie’s never really gotten that. The guy isn’t dumb. He just takes his time to think shit through. Like now. So Eddie waits.
Rather suddenly after the consternation, Steve slaps his palm against Eddie’s and shakes his hand in two hard pumps. “I say show up Friday night at six. We’re going to have dinner with my parents.”
Eddie thinks ‘fuck yeah’ at the same time as some part of him, deep down, thinks ‘oh no.’

Eddie thinks Steve is selling his body to him for free weed and other party favors. Steve thinks he’s getting eaten out on the regular and the only downside is how much damn weed he has piling up in a shoebox under his bed, given to him by his nerdy on-again off-again drug dealing maybe sometimes boyfriend not-boyfriend.

Summary
“You know you have the whole of my heart,” Eddie brings Steve’s hand to his chest: “and that there is no thing possible in any world that I would not give to you, for you.”
And Steve does know that. He could never have imagined feeling such certainty in a promise spoken like an immutable fact that way, but: that was before Eddie.
And to feel Eddie, his mate, his partner, the whole of his heart and home of his soul—questioning at all is the foolish thing.
So yes, Steve knows.
“One thing, though, has been impossible,” Eddie speaks to Steve as much to the moon above; “and there is about to be a,” and Steve’s close enough to hear the stop-start skipping of that deep-drumming heart as Eddie murmurs low:
“A window.”
—
Former-Dragon-Sacrifice-Turned-Doted-Upon-Partner Steve Harrington truly does not believe he could love or be loved deeper than what he has with his perfect dragon mate, Eddie.
Eddie, however, thinks something more may be possible.
If their love proves strong enough.
Follows this but stands on its own.

Summary
Eddie guessed that it was his own fault for waiting until the last second to get a new roommate. He thought that he’d be able to wait it out. He was on the edge of graduating from his apprenticeship at the shop, so, so close to being able to afford the apartment completely on his own. But then his boss had to go and make it clear that nothing was happening until the New Year, a solid three months away.
His paycheck to paycheck lifestyle wasn’t gonna cut it for that long. And that's how he found himself desperate enough to post a Craig’s list ad. What did he think was going to happen? He’d get the creme of the crop? No. The only applicants he’d had were a chronic cigarette smoker who couldn’t wait to light up until after the apartment tour, a middle-aged guy who immediately told him that his ferrets free-roaming around the house was a non-negotiable, and some dude who wore polo shirts and looked like he fell out of a high school rom-com.
He should have chosen the smoker. But no, he had to go with the eye-candy. Despite the fact that he knew Steve would never look twice his way, even with the low odds that he even liked men.
But he couldn’t help it.

Summary
Nina: “Why do you love me, Eddie?”
Eddie: “You were like coming up for fresh air.” [playing with his rings nervously] “Life kinda blurred into one long day. And then I met you.” [looking at her lovingly] “And you brought me back to life. I felt like the old me again.”
Nina: “Do you think we’ll get through this?”
Eddie: “We have to.” [smiling at her] “I haven’t finished loving you yet.”
Eddie’s life didn’t change much after he returned from the upside down. People still hated him, blamed him, and he retreated to a shell of his former self. Life passed him by, blurring into the same everyday routine. Until Nina, Robin’s ‘sort-of’ cousin arrives in Hawkins.
Fleeing from her past in California, Nina’s world is turned upside down (no pun intended) as she falls head over heels for the freak of Hawkins.
Can these two lost souls find peace with each other, or will the demons of their past come back for them?

Summary
Thunder rumbles constantly in the distance by the time Eddie settles himself back in his room, plopping down at his desk and picking up a pencil to draw. He sketches aimlessly, thinking ruefully about Chrissy's absurd suggestion.
𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘢 𝘣𝘰𝘺𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥. 𝘍𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦.
In this small town, full of even smaller minds? He's more likely to meet a creature from the Monster Manual.
Speaking of, Eddie looks down to where he's scribbled a few very rough outlines of a sprite in various poses. He must have unconsciously drawn the fae creature because of all of his latest campaign planning. These tree dwelling spellcasters were going to play a big role in his upcoming arc.
Eddie slowly fills in the details of the creature's face, giving it the typical sharp, handsome elven features and – Eddie's own personal weakness – voluminous perfect hair. He smiles to himself as he works, making up more backstory as he draws in the character's fancy clothing and surroundings. This guy would be a prince, of course, living in the largest hardwood in the forest, full of all these little rooms with carved furniture and rugs of the finest pine needles.
Or, Eddie meets his dream fae who makes all his wishes come true. Literally.

Post presentation, Steve has yet to go into heat. The enormous weight of his parents’ expectations, Upside Down flavored night terrors, and the crippling void of loneliness—he’s only just beginning to unravel—don’t help this.
At the behest of Dr. Owens, Steve enlists the help of one Eddie Munson, newly souped up alpha riding high on demo-venom, to help him out.
He just hopes he doesn’t embarrass himself too much when Eddie’s addicting scent finally gets the slick to pour.

Summary
Steve swallowed hard and slid closer to Eddie, he felt a flash of adrenaline surge through him and his heart pounded as he worked up the nerve to speak, act, or throw himself out of the nearest window.
Before he could do any of those highly inadvisable things his eyes locked onto a trail of blood seeping down from one of the bandages tucked under the cuff of Eddie's black band tee. If not for a flash from the black-and-white movie playing on the screen, he would have missed it entirely. Now it was all he could focus on.
“Jesus, Eddie, your arm is bleeding.”
And with those words ringing in the air, the spell between them was abruptly broken.
Steve was up off the couch without another word and making a mental checklist of the first aid supplies he had stashed underneath the bathroom sink. He crossed to the light switch and flipped it on, further sandblasting away any remaining romantic vibes in the room. He turned to Eddie and spoke firmly but gently. “Come on. Bathroom. Now.”
Eddie sighed softly, gritting his teeth as he followed Steve upstairs to the bathroom. “Alright, Nurse Ratchet, I’m coming.

Summary
Hawkins is a small town, everyone knows everyone—and Eddie has been in school with Steve Harrington since kindergarten. They were in the same third grade play in elementary, they were square dance partners for a week in seventh, and they had three years in the same remedial math classes in high school. Eddie knows his way around Harrington’s house as well as any other teenager in Hawkins does, went to all the same house parties, the same field parties, the same lake parties. Hell, Eddie has sold Harrington weed countless times, he’s one of his best customers because Harrington pays extra for Eddie to roll for him.
So, how the hell did Eddie not know Harrington was an omega?

“I could help with that.”
It takes him a minute to realize that he said anything at all as Steve gives him a bizarre look.
They blink at each other for a long, long time while Eddie's brain catches up with his ears, which are catching up with his mouth.
“Now… what do you mean by that?” Steve asks, crossing his arms over his chest.
Eddie doesn't have an answer, because even though he knows exactly what he meant by that, he does not know what possessed him to actually fucking say it. So he stays silent, choosing instead to stare owlishly at Steve, trying to communicate with him via telepathy.
I'm offering to take the edge off. I'm offering to beat your meat. To crank your hog. Be normal about it because I can't be.
or
Steve and Eddie strike up a mutually beneficial, casual relationship, but Eddie is incapable about being casual about anything.

Summary
A Complete Series Rewrite, Starting In Summer 1978.
Steve Harrington didn't mean to cause trouble; he didn't. It wasn't his fault that his parents had been gone nearly a month and the house was out of food. It wasn't his fault the teacher heard him mention it.
But it was his fault for opening the door, or at least that's what his father will tell him.
When CPS comes knocking, the trajectory of Steve's life takes an unexpected turn; years before the deaths, the monsters, the fighting, and the terrors of the Upside Down. His new life starts simply... with a friendship born in the back of a police cruiser.
