Summary
Hannibal catches the exact moment when Will’s eyes widen.
“Hannibal, your 7 o’clock,” he whispers, leaning across the table to close the short distance between them. “Unwanted company.”
Hannibal meets his partner’s eyes under his boater hat and gives a nod, so slight that only Will would notice. He waits a minute, eats another mouthful of his meal, then looks to his left, lifting an arm as if to brush a speck of dust off his shoulder. What he’s really doing is covertly glancing at the man loitering at the souvenir stand in the street behind them.

Summary
Will and Hannibal have known each other since their late teens. When he was young, Will’s family had moved to Lithuania for a few years during his father’s tenure in the army. Soon after, the Grahams became close friends with the Lecters and an instant bond was formed between their two sons.
Over the years, Will and Hannibal had become extremely close, almost like brothers, until Will visited Hannibal in New York for a week while the latter was attending medical school. From there, their relationship got…well let’s just say, a little complicated.
Hannibal AU, mostly taking place a year ago. Will, who is now 32, is working at Johns Hopkins University, teaching classes in the psychology department. Hannibal, now 37, visits him while attending a medical conference in Baltimore. From there, we learn about their complicated history.
The story is divided up into four volumes, split into parts, exploring specific moments from Will and Hannibal’s relationship. These stories are tied together with the weekend from a year ago.

Summary
Life finally seems to be on the upswing for 24-year-old Wolf Trap police officer Will Graham when he receives a letter from the FBI Academy informing him that he's been accepted into their program for the upcoming semester. But fate intervenes with a cruel and ironic twist when Will walks into a house and discovers a murder scene and recognizes the M.O. as that of the Chesapeake Ripper, a killer who’s been on the FBI’s ten most wanted list for the past two years. But the shock of finding a Ripper murder scene in Wolf Trap is only the beginning as Will soon realizes that the Ripper is still in the house. And so begins a night of terror as Will tries to stay one step ahead of one of the most ruthless and cunning killers in the country, while also trying to prove to himself that he's worthy enough to join the ranks of the F.B.I.
