She stands just inside the door of his office, where he’d trapped her during their argument, one arm on either side of her head so she’d be forced to face him, to talk how they used to when they were little and had no secrets. He wants to hear her say openly why she hates him now, why she wants so badly to defy his orders, why she wants to be places she doesn’t need to be. He can take care of her. He can make sure she wants for nothing. Why does she fight him so much?
