"Lena, I'm... I'm sorry. I was trying to catch Lex for you," Kara says, earnestly. "That's why I'm doing this. Of course, I care about you."
"You care about me a little less than you do as the source of your story." Lena takes a sip of her scotch.
"No, no! It's not like that! I wish I could explain..." Kara nearly stomps her foot in frustration.
Lena raises an eyebrow and waits.
"But..." Kara looks down at the ground. "But maybe it's better if I just go." She turns and walks out of the room.
The sudden departure cracks Lena's heart, and she blinks back tears.

Prompt: "Someone gets hit with a love potion, but then... nothing changes? we sit there like ‘oh, what wacky shenanigans will this person do when they’re suddenly in love?’ and the answer is... apparently literally fail to notice any change, because they just feel the same as they always do."
I flipped through my grimoire idly. My fingers kept bringing me back to the notes, the spell for "Infatuation Inescapable." It was unclear exactly what infatuation meant in this sense. The original text was old, and the intention of the spell could have changed over the years. Would it really be inescapable, I wondered? Even for a Kryptonian? A lightbulb flashed in my mind. There was my research question! At last, a legitimate reason to explore the spell further.
(Lena decides to experiment to see if she can draw out a love confession from her totally platonic best friend. Post canon.)
