About three things Renjun was absolutely positive.
First, Jaemin was a vampire.
Second, there was a part of Renjun—one powerless to deny the way his heart raced whenever Jaemin flashed pointed teeth at him—that resented Dejun for dragging him to the campus bar’s Halloween party because what if we see someone as hot as Edward Cullen.
And third, Jaemin was way hotter than Edward Cullen. Renjun was going to go broke if he didn’t stop visiting the bar every week to try and uncover why an actual vampire was masquerading as a student at his university. Or to try and get Jaemin’s number. Maybe both.

It goes like this: Jaemin stumbles upon the maid cafe in a seedy back street in Jongno, wanders in after his interest is piqued by the vulgar graffiti on the sign, finds Huang Renjun from his fluid mechanics lecture serving tables while decked out in the shortest, frilliest skirt imaginable, and ends up with his hand up said skirt in the back room before the night is over.

Renjun lives by two simple rules to stay alive: One, keep your hand on your switchblade at all times. Two, trust no one. Jaemin is bad news, with his dream of a future and a smile too genuine for someone who’s seen the end of the world. Falling in love with him would be a bad idea.

“You make it sound stupider than it actually is,” Renjun groans, kicking him from under the table. In all fairness, it is stupid, very much so, but he can’t stand when his own stupidity is recognised by people that aren’t himself, Mark included. “Shut up and tell me if it’s good or not.”
