Ed knows what he looks like to guys like that, and if he hadn't known when he woke up this morning, he sure as shit knows now every other shop on this street has told him.

Summary
Stories where the romantic relationship(s) are the central focus, and the plot is secondary or non-existent. I think most of these are pretty accessible even if you don't know the canon.
Probably the best story here is either "Between the shores of your souls" (Rogue One) or “be yourself my ally” (Wonder Woman), but my favourite is "Balance, Falling" (original).

Summary
As Cardinal-Deacon, Thomas Lawrence is the papal confessor.
He does not wish for it to be anyone else. This is but one of the reasons he retains his post. He misses the late Holy Father still, but Innocentius XIV is someone he cannot stop himself from serving. He feels, sometimes, as though he has been waiting for this man his whole life. He no longer speaks of resignation, but feels buoyed with spiritual energy, empowered by the Pope’s most divine leadership, by a life full of worship.
It is almost amusing, then, to hear the little sins of the Universal Church’s Supreme Pontiff.
