He sticks a shaking hand into the water and lets it run through his webbed fingers. It’s nice and warm.
It’s home.
“I think we’ll be there soon,” Ryusei says quietly and scoots closer to Sae, finally wrapping an arm around the omega. “I think they’ll release us far away from where the humans reside,” the alpha guesses and Sae hums at that.
He looks into the distance and props his arms on the edge of the boat, letting his head rest on top of it. The sun stands high above them and warms Sae’s dry and calloused skin. After all this time, he still feels the rough sand of the aquarium itch his scales, scouring at them until he bled and cried from agony.

Rin paused, the years of pent-up anger and feelings still curling around his gut, yet words escaped him when he finally had the opportunity to spill it all. He cleared his throat, trying to decide where to start with everything, words jumbling up whenever he opened his mouth.
“Well?” Sae spoke again, breaking the silence. He still didn’t turn to face Rin again. “Too lukewarm to talk to your brother?”
“Last time we spoke, you told me the one person that I despise was the future of Japanese soccer, not me,” he finally spat out. “That was after you played an entire match with the most irritating person on the planet.”

The New Generation XI camp is held in Germany this year. The players get a day off and they can do whatever they want. Most of them go outside the city. That includes Sae and Kaiser as well. Kaiser had been following Sae around until someone started hitting on Sae. Kaiser's blood was boiling and he may have caused some trouble.
