He knows that Harry is probably going to law school in the Fall, and that he will probably still be living at home and will have to figure out some way to stop this freefall and make some money, and he knows that no one even knows they’re together, but--- he doesn’t want to know the ending yet. He’s so well-versed in predicting the ending, but when the sun glints off of Harry’s green eyes and his warm hand rests so easily on his thigh as they drive, he just wants to let his walls fall down, brick by brick.

Summary
Determinedly, he rushes back to where the DJ’s loud music can drown out his loud and racing thoughts, where there is free champagne, and where there is a kind man, hopefully, still waiting for him.
His chest unfurls with relief as he spots Harry, now with a martini in hand. He is standing steadfastly at their cocktail table, and Louis feels an odd sort of kinship when he sees his new friend. Harry straightens up as he sees Louis approaching.
“Did you find-”
“Let’s dance,” Louis cuts him off. Thankfully, Harry doesn’t ask questions.

Louis and Harry meet at a corporate holiday party, drink copious amounts of champagne, dance like fools, steal rich people's food, and possibly, just maybe, fall in love.

Harry never knew his family was any different. Sure, he grew up with a few dozen siblings, more than one set of adults to watch over him, but that was normal, right?
His parents called it a commune. But the law enforcement that took them away in cuffs called it a cult.
Alone and too dependent to set out on his own, Harry is sent home with one of the social workers to show him the ins and outs of normal society.
Harry doesn't think too much of Louis, or anyone else. After all, he grew up learning how to thrive off the land, he just needs a few days to learn before he leaves this whole situation behind him.

It started with Louis interrupting her in their first class together two years ago. Harry has always known this about herself, she holds a grudge like no other. And she is strong. She was made a warrior by her childhood. So she despises being made to feel small more than anything. A challenge to her intellect runs the risk of being the last thing a person does before their untimely and quite violent death. Harry couldn’t jump across three rows of seats and attack Louis on that day, she had to be civilized, so she improvised. She called him a small man threatened by a woman who was smarter than him. He laughed. And so their rivalry began.

“Louis,” Zayn suddenly sits up from the couch, no doubt recognizing the thread of menace that has laced Louis’ tone. “What do you intend to do?”
“It’s simple,” Louis replies, already feeling a tingle in his bones as a plan begins to formulate. “In the end, Harry will be the one to call off the engagement.”
“Harry is hellbent on marrying the omega heir,” Zayn points out. “I have a hard time seeing how you will convince him to do such a thing.”
“I will make him fall in love with me,” Louis announces slowly, ignoring Violet’s tiny scratches against his thigh that feel an awful lot like a warning. “Piece by piece, I will come to take ownership over his heart. An invasion of love, if you will. And then I’ll shatter it so violently that he will be unable to spend even a mere second in my presence.”
