Hello.
After much thought and contemplation, I decided that I no longer can update this fic. The topic of WW2 is something that affects me personally, which was part of why I wanted to start writing this fanfiction.
But the more I went on, the more I realized that reading about such profound atrocities consistently took a devastating toll on my mental health. Writing became a chore, much more for this fanfiction.
I began "Beyond the Aegean" as a way for me to not only project Greek history to a wider audience but to also present Heracles through a different set of lenses (as Heracles' character in Hetalia is, in my own opinion as a Greek, an outrageously bad representation). But I cannot find myself to go on with a piece of fanfiction about a time period that totally leveled my country and its people and its aftermath still affects the country to this day.
Perhaps, one day, I'll find the strength to return and finish He, Who Defies the Kings. In the meantime, I'll focus on going through with my college studies, my mental health and the rest of my fanfic series, specifically Basileuousa, The Tower and a few more that I have in store.
