Chapter Text
“ANNE?!” Marcy yells, the sound reverberating throughout the void.
The fake Anne had disappeared, along with most of the pain they were put through. Their thoughts immediately begin racing about what could possibly be happening.
Did Anne come to rescue me? Of course she would, this is Anne we’re talking about! Even if she’s rightfully angry with me she wouldn’t leave me here to suffer eternally!
The prospect of seeing Anne again makes their heart soar and it’s more than enough to motivate Marcy into trying to stand.
Then another familiar voice bounces through the blank white void.
“MAR-MAR?!”
Sasha. I’ve missed her using that cute nickname. I’ve missed her grounding hugs. I’ve missed everything about her.
“ What makes you think you deserve to see them again?” The voice is much quieter than the last time it spoke and seems much more strained. It’s almost as if it’s fighting to stay conscious. They turn to the frankly, grating, voice and notice a black blob that’s a couple feet taller than them, glaring at them apprehensively with at least 13 eyes. There’s also a plethora of sky blue and dark pink cracks in its form.
“It doesn’t matter what I think about myself, they came all this way to save me! If they didn’t care at least a little bit then they wouldn’t have showed up here to kick your butt!”
Green begins to overtake Marcy’s hazel eyes and deep, emerald green cracks begin forming throughout the void. The cracks only continue to branch out and thicken as Marcy continues yelling, eventually appearing on the creature in front of them as well.
Once the cracks start forming on its body it gets even smaller, now it’s slightly shorter than Marcy themself.
“ Nononono! This is impossible! How could you access the stone’s power in such a state?!”
All it can do is stare at them with it’s mouth agape while it continues to shrink. It’s about half the size of Marcy now. The emerald is covering even more of its mass than both the blue and pink cracks combined.
“I won’t let them down again!”
It’s below their knees now. The green cracks act as a bridge between the blue and pink ones which makes it scream out in agony. Many of it’s eyes have began to seal themselves shut.
“I WON’T!”
“ I’m the only thing keeping you alive! If you damage me in my current state you’ll kill us both!” It desperately shrieks.
This is what finally causes Marcy to snap back to “reality” and think for a minute.
It can fit in the palm on their hand now. They stare at the pitiful demon pleading for mercy in front of them and they’ve got an idea.
Marcy cups the demon in the palms of their hands and grins devilishly.
”Why don’t we make a deal?”
It flinches as it recalls the way this conversation went previously and looks up at Marcy with it’s one remaining eye, horrified.
”You’re going to be my demon life support or whatever, you’re going to keep your mouth SHUT, and you’re never going to hurt my friends again. If you do all that, I’ll let you continue your miserable existence. Got it?” Marcy demands in an uncharacteristically aggressive screech.
It’s tiny form is trembling in their hands and it’s rapidly moving up and down which Marcy assumes is a nod.
”Good. Get out of my sight now.”
It scampers away before Marcy can even finish that sentence.
After all this time, Marcy is finally back in control again. They’re greeted by concrete flooring beneath them and the destroyed remains of the castle’s coral decor. As they push themself up off of it they notice two distinct figures in front of them.
They would recognize them anywhere, Anne and Sasha, are standing right before them.
They smile instinctively at the sight.
”Hey guys.” They say with a voice incredibly hoarse from lack of use.
”MARCY!?”
