Work Text:
Young heir tubbo wasn't really someone anyone would be able to approach. Much less a commoner.
Yet here tommy was, standing in front of the heir who was originally busy studying. Eyeing him with quirked brows.
"You seem very unapproachable."
The young boy hummed, "yet here you are." He said nonchalantly and went back to his book. And tommy sat gracefully sat beside him. Uncaring on how high of a status the boy beside him is.
After all the air felt nice, it felt as if he wasn't a total stranger. But instead a friend he'd known for years. It was strange, but it felt right. "And what might you be working on your grace?"
"Well im supposed to take on my bloodline, my father has made me study for the politics to come."
"That's boring."
The boy scoffed, "well you don't have to worry about taking over an important role. You're a mere commoner."
Tommy's nose scrunched up in offense, he isn't going to be slandered! Much less in front of him! "I am no mere commoner. Im tommyinnit."
"Mmhm, i guess you're right. No mere commoner would pass the guards."
"Im simply too good for them, actually."
The young heir stopped his reading to stare up at him. "Why are you here anyway? You shouldn't be talking to me."
"Well i thought you looked pretty." He answered back, it's not his fault that the back gate was left open. Maybe sneaking in is on him, but when he saw the young boy simply minding himself on the ground, he was intrigued.
"m' not a girl" he mumbled
"You don't have to be a girl to be pretty. And you're prettier than any girl in my village." Tommy pointed out with annoyance. You don't need to be a girl to be pretty! His brother said so.
"I am?"
Tommy nodded "yeah! And you're nicer than them too."
The boy processed the words for a moment, before nodding his head "My names is tubbo, what's your name?"
"I told you my name!"
Tubbos ears flicked, his small ram tail twitching for a moment as he looked deep in thought "Well i don't remember!"
"That's rude."
"Maybe.."
Tommy inched closer to the boy, leaning in to his ear as if he were to tell a secret. "What's it like being heir to be a duke?"
"I think it's boring! My papa won't let me be anything else."
Tommy raised a brow "nothing at all?"
"Nope!"
Tommy thought about it for a moment to think of any benefits to being a heir. "Well you get married to a very pretty girl don't you? And you shall not be poor."
"..i don't like girls that much.."
His face twisted into one of confusion, how could he not? Isn't that the whole purpose? To then have another heir to continue the blood line?
"Well why not? How will you continue your bloodline my grace?"
"I want a husband instead tommy. That is what i shall want. But it is something i cannot get." Tubbo pouted, his ram ears lowering in sadness.
"Than I'll be your husband!"
The young heirs head tilted in confusion "but i thought only boys and girls could marry?" The blond boy grabbed his hand in an instant, making tubbo let out a surprised yelp. "We can change that!"
"But you have no ring for me."
"Then I'll make one for you your grace." He nodded, dragging him farther into the garden onto a small tree.
"Why are we here?"
Tommy made no effort to respond, instead, grabbing multiple small sticks and thorns. Twisting them together until they resembled a ring. He added a final touch with one of the flowers as well.
"There! I told you i shall give you a ring!"
Tubbo smiled as he put on the ring, looking tommy in the eyes brightly. "Thank you. And where is yours? Shouldn't you also have one as well?"
Tommy was busy making his, once he finished he triumphantly showed it to the young hybrid. "Here! And now we're officially married and you are my wife!"
"But im a boy like you!"
Tommy grinned "Doesn't matter!"
He looked up at the sky for a moment, frowning as he realized it'd be time to go back to his papa and brothers.
"I have to go now. My papa would be really really mad if im late."
"Will i see you tomorrow at my garden?"
"Leave the back gate open a quarter after noon high your grace!" Tommy yelled as he ran through the said back gate. Giggling happily as he ran until the brunet boy could no longer see his golden like hair.
Tubbo smiled gently as he took a deeper look into the shabby made 'ring'. Blushing lightly at the events that had just happened to him.
"Tubbo!"
He flinched, whipping his head around to see his father standing near the gazebo. His facial expressions only seeming unimpressed.
He walked slowly over to the build his father stood at. Already knowing the scolding he'd get for skipping his studies. "..Yes papa?"
"And why must've you left your studies?"
"The garden distracted me sir."
His papa sighed, massaging the sides of his head before speaking to him again. "Do you want to go back to studying in the letter room?"
"No!"
"Then sharpen up boy. Your eighteenth will be soon."
Tubbo pouted lightly at the man "but I'm only fourteen papa."
The duke didn't care, dismissing him to come back inside. "It seems like it's going to rain today anyway. With how long it has been gray and cloudy. Pick up all your things boy. We're going to have dinner.".
Tubbo nodded and picked up his notes and books. His mind still running high off the mysterious boy that had approached him not too long ago.
----
It has been three years since tommy and tubbo met. And the two have been attached to the hip ever since.
His father never learned about him and tommy. And it seemed that tommy's papa hadn't either.
Tommy would usually climb up into his room whenever tubbo would be studying or doing whatever else.
"Your grace." He bowed, making tubbo only scoff in amusement. "Stop calling me that, we're friends."
"Mmhm, i prefer the term lovers. Or husbands?"
Tubbo hummed as he kept writing down more notes onto his paper. "We were fourteen tommy."
"I don't see how that changes anything my love." He responded with a purr, wrapping his arms around the smaller boys waist. (He.. had hit a pretty big growth spurt in his fifteens.)
Tubbo giggled and tried shaking off the arms that slithered down his waist. "Quit distracting me, i must be ready for.. This season."
Tommy huffed. Rolling his eyes at the mention of the season. How his fucking lover will be in search for a wife.
"Excited for the season, arent you." He bit out bitterly as he took away his arms from the young heirs waist. Choosing to sit on the soft silk-like bed instead.
"Oh for heavens sake tommy, i will not cheat on you. And i am not having this conversation again."
"If you had no intention to cheat on me, you wouldn't be out looking for a wife your grace." He spat out the last two words with venom, glaring at the boy infront of him with only fury.
"I must do it tommy! Can you not understand? I'm expected to carry the bloodli-"
"It's always the fucking bloodline tubbo! That's always your excuse! You never once think about mine and- not even your own feelings tubbo! It's always the fucking bloodline, and your fathers thoughts you think about."
Tubbos eyes sharpened, stomping up to the taller boy who was standing infront of his bed with the same fierce gaze.
"You always act like you're right! Like im a stupid damsel in distress that's only for you to come save me! I shall not have the luxury of simply not wanting to marry!"
It had been a snowball of insults and accusations, and thank god that tubbos room was the highest above. That the walls were stone thick, and that nobody could hear the boys shout their lungs out at eachother.
"Get out tommy. Just- just go." He muttered out with red rimmed eyes, turning his back to the equally upset boy in favour of his notes.
"Yeah. Yeah i think I'll leave."
Before tommy could leave through the window, he grinned bitterly and took a last look at his busy hunched lover. "Oh and tubbo?"
The ram hybrid made no effort to reply. His ears twitching as a show of annoyance and displeasure.
"The seasons next month. Good luck finding the love of your life."
----
He stepped out the carriage, staring in awe at the beautiful warm light that seeped through the outside of the building. The courting couples talking and dancing outside through the meanwhile of people inside looking for a potential marrying spouse.
Tubbo walked around the ballroom, ladies and gentlemen waltzing together. Mama's chatting and gossiping, men having their eyes hooked on every woman that had caught their interest.
Its stupid.
But the room is nice, decked out with decorating vines, champagne and rum being passed out to everyone.
He wondered what tommy would think.
He took a glass of champagne from one of the servants, bowing at every person that took a look at him. Ignoring the mama's that whispered to their daughter's to go talk to him. That he is the son of the Duke. He politely rejected every dance offer, pretending that he already had a full list.
It's tiring.
But what shall he do?
He drank the beverage in a corner, hoping that he'd be hidden well enough within the shadows. Watching everyone dance and talk in order to find their supposed future spouse.
He wanted to leave. Tommy was right, it's stupid. And he wishes he was born to a normal man. Then his worries wouldn't be as high as they are.
"Cowering in the shadows boy?"
Tubbo almost spat out his drink in surprise, eyes widened as his head snapped to his fathers amused expression and quirked up brows. "Afraid of all the ladies and mama's dazzling around?"
"It's simply.. Overwhelming father."
"You'll do fine. Now get out there and dance."
And oh did he do so.
He put on a polite and soft demeanor to everyone, dancing around the ballroom with different damsels that happily threw themselves at him.
Apparently his father wasn't the only duke in here, as he saw the other duke talking to the diamond of the season.
Ah. The diamond of the season. Blessed by the queen herself. In fact, he read in lady whistledowns paper that the queen had looked so enamoured by her presence. Choosing her as the diamond on the first show. He recalled that Her name was daphne, wasn't it? The eldest daughter of the bridgertons.
He saw her talking with her brother, he lowered his eyes back down to the lady he was dancing with. Setting off a gentle smile as he excused himself.
He walked out of the suffocating room, thinking of a way to resolve his internal issue.
He was inlove with tommy. It's.. It's no doubt that he is. But he has expectations. And his responsibility shall be bigger than his own desires. (But that can't be right. Tommy would argue with him on that.)
He'd just have to find a girl he'd take a nice liking to. Marry her, carry the bloodline and move on. He doesn't need to fall inlove with her. (He's sure he's unable to anyway.)
And it doesn't matter if tommy likes it or not. It's what he has to do and what he will do. No matter how reluctant he is to do it.
"Enjoying the nights evening breeze your grace?"
Tubbo internally groaned at the voice of someone already ruining his time alone. But nevertheless, giving them a small and polite smile. "Of course. It's a lovely night tonight, is it not?" He said as he turned around to look at the woman and-
She's gorgeous.
The woman wore a soft blueish dress. Light and non-flashy adornments laid on top of her head. And overall? She's quite beautiful.
"It is a lovely night. Would you care for a nice dance out? Unless your cards full, of course."
"Oh- no, i have enough room for your name on it. I'd- id be happy to upset this dance actually." He didn't mean to stutter- why did he stutter?
It apparently didn't matter to the damsel. Happily walking with him to a gazebo that was sat in front of the house. Lit up by candles that only spread warm light.
He actually had fun with her. As if she was a dear old friend that he'd hadn't seen in a while. Laughing and dancing out in the open moons light.
Unbeknownst to them, a certain blond boy was watching them. Specifically the brunet boy that had accidentally stumbled into the lady's hold. His eyes tired and rimmed red as he left the scene with tears falling from the sides of his cheeks.
----
Tommy hadn't visited him in a while.
It was getting worrying for tubbo. They'd never gone this long without seeing eachother after a fight. It had already been two months since he had last saw him.
In fairness, tubbo had been quite busy. He was spending a lot of time with his new friend. She helped distract him in every ball. And for some reason, because of her, other ladies back off with bitter eyed looks at her.
He's not sure why, but God's is he thankful that he doesn't have to keep dealing with swarms of different girls thrown at him by their determined mamas.
But right now had been a break day.
So he planned to sneak out to the village in hopes of finding his lover to make amends.
He grabbed a cloak that was neatly placed in his dresser. It wasn't so hot out anyway. He'd live.
He had made sure to tell the maid that he would be busy taking a nap, to make sure that she'd tell everyone to not disturb the supposedly sleeping heir.
Tubbo gently slipped outside his window, climbing down the vines with intent to make no sound. He can't afford to be caught in any way.
Once the boy made it to the ground, he hunched down and ran to the garden. Running to the back gate in a hurry to make sure he wouldn't be caught.
He had never walked alone before, nor had he ever traveled without a carriage. Grimacing at the mud that covered the forest floors and onto his boots.
Noticing the distant smoke coming from up ahead, he grinned as he knew he was set in the right path.
He put the hood of his cloak on when he made it to the villages passage, hiding his face away from every woman and man that walked past him. Tommy had never told him how big his village was, or where he lived. But surely it shouldn't be as hard.
After a while of twisting and turning throughout the town and shops he heard the familiar surprised laugh that he's heard so many times throughout the years. (The one he had dearly missed through out the season.)
Lifting his head upwards he saw tommy standing next to a crowd of boys and some girls. Laughing outloud to whatever story a tall dirty blonded man had been saying.
He bit his lip as he thought of a way to alert tommy that he's there, how would he? Walking up to him could- no. Would serve attention to him. So how subtle could he be?
"And who's the special girl our lad tom has been seeing hmm?"
Tubbo's thoughts quickly snapped out of themselves after that. And he didn't have time to think as he sat down to the table beside them. (And hopefully they hadn't taken a notice to him.)
"You've been seeing a lady?"
"I never thought he would. The boy practically scares all of the ones nearby!"
"Oh fuck off, im simply courting her. Im not so sure how deep we're going to go."
"Mhm, that's what they all say. Next thing you know he's keeled over for the girl!"
A.. Girl? Tommy is seeing a girl? Nonetheless courting her behind his back? He-
He wasn't serious was he?
All this time he had been angry at him, accusing him of wanting to cheat, and yet here he was apparently going out of his way to see a lady? Courting her?
Angered tears started to water up tubbos eyes, his ears lowering as he kept on hearing what his 'lover' had to say.
"Im not lying! Im just dipping my feet into it is all."
"Well it's about time you do tommy. You aren't getting any younger boy."
"Im seventeen you fuckin' prick."
A smaller girl laughed beside him, "i wish you luck on not scaring her away!"
"He is allowed to marry, he's turning eighteen in a couple weeks." Another boy with light brown hair pointed out.
Tubbo bit down a sob.
"Yeah, yeah. Im going to go back home anyways. Philza will kill me if i come home late. Worse if he finds out I've been drinking with you twats."
"We'll see you tomorrow then tommy"
"Why i bet he's just sneaking away for a date-"
"Shut up sapnap."
They exchanged their goodbyes before tommy left, tubbo made sure to wait til the boy was out of sight to follow him. He didn't need suspicions from his peers.
He stood up and followed the trail the younger went through, relieved to see that where he went was mostly vacant with not much commoners walking through.
He finally saw tommy, who was trudging through the path. His demeanor completely different.
"Tommy!"
Tommys head whipped around to look at tubbo, eyes widened with surprise at seeing him. Tubbo took off his hood, freely showing his face with only betrayal painted on it. (And tears.)
"..And what do i owe you the pleasure your grace?"
Tubbo stomped towards him, "how dare you? How fucking dare you?"
Tommy scoffed, continuing to walk with only a grimace. "Leave. For i have nothing to do with you."
"You- you're just going to walk away? Be unfaithful to me, and just leave without as much as a glance?" He whispered, with a hushed and broken voice. Face twisted in one that could only be described as horrified and hurt.
Tommy seemed offended by it, turning around with a disbelieving look "You dare talk to me about faithfulness tubbo? You were the first to shoot the target. Don't you dare speak to me about being faithful when you broke our promise first."
"I didn't cheat on you! I never did!"
"I saw you with that woman the other week. You looked so fucking happy and enamored, i couldn't even intrude your happy moment with her."
"I.. Are you talking about rosebell? Why were you even there anyways? What if you got caught!"
Tommy only rolled his eyes and kept walking, tubbo realizing that the boy was heading to the forest.
He let out a humorless laugh. "Is this where she lives? You're just going to go meet the lady infront of me?"
"Then you can leave back to your manor your grace."
Tubbo chewed on his lip as he thought about what to do. But then again-
How could he be the son of the duke if he shall not be as equally stubborn as him?
"No. No, tommy im not leaving."
"Than your company shall be pointless. You're wasting both of our times."
Tubbos lips quivered and ached with the sudden cold air. "Tommy, why? You.. Me and rosebell are simply just friends!"
"You accepted her courting, don't lie to me."
"When? I haven't courted anyone but you throughout my lif-"
Tommy laughed as if he had just told a joke. Yet his eyes showed only disbelief, as if he couldn't believe what he had just heard. "You're kidding right? Are you blind to everything around you tubbo? Could you not realize that she had clearly been courting you?"
"I-"
"Have you not seen that the mamas and damsels have left you alone? No longer questioning for a dance or to talk?"
There was a tense silence surrounding them. Tubbo bowing his head down low and tommy only looking down with furrowed eyes.
"..i haven't cheated on you tubbo."
"Do not lie to me-"
"Im not going to see a lady. She doesn't even exist. Im going to my home."
"But.. Your family- and your friends?"
Tommy shook his head and continued walking. "I still live with them. Im just planning to move out soon, just as my brothers. To a small cottage i found abandoned in the forest. And.. I just want to make myself seem happy with them. My friends i mean."
Tubbo sniffled, rubbing the tears away from his face as he looked up at his- lover? His ex-lover? He doesn't know anymore.
"Im sorry."
"I know."
"I- i didn't mean to.."
"I know."
The boy hugged himself before tugging the coats hood back onto his head. "I think.. I think i should leave now right?"
His only response was a mere nod. Tommy only kept walking ahead the path without another glance. And tubbo turned around to head back home. Because this is it isn't it? A short lived love from when he was fourteen, He'll part ways from the one he called the love of his life.
He.. He has a responsibility after all. Right?
----
It has been two weeks since he had last spoke to tommy in the edge of the forest.
And ever since then, he only felt like a shell of someone who he used to be. The young heir showed to only be distracted and lost.
His father had noticed and thought of it as a spat with rosebell.
Rosebell had noticed, and thought that he might just be stressed. The same story for all the workers and servants.
None knew the true reason why. And tubbo had no intention to ever share the truth to anyone. He was expected to marry in fall anyway, and to share his honeymoon with his soon to be wife in his own mansion.
It's the dream of many people- so why was he so sad? Why did he feel empty, like a part of him had been ripped out and thrown away?
He laid in his bed, watching the top of the ceiling as if it's the most entertaining play out there. Slowly starting to daze off and-
He heard two knocks from his window, and as if it was on instinct, he already knew who was there.
Tommy.
"..to-"
"Are you opening the window or not? It's fuckin' freezing outside!"
He got up in an instant, quickly opening up the window. Grimacing lightly at the cold air that his face and intruded inside his room.
"You're back."
"Are you going to marry her?"
Tubbo didn't respond, only frowning and looking away from the piercing gaze tommy gave him. "Tubbo, are you?" He snarled the question again.
"I am to marry." Tubbo affirmed, challenging tommy back with his own glare. "I can't go back on that tommy."
Tommy's heart got caught in his throat. Tears already threatening to spill before he whispered a request. "Can't we just have one more night together?"
He processed to words before he softly nodded. It was noon high. And the night would be a couple hours away. And tubbo didn't have all day. (He was expected to be with his fiance at seven right?)
So they had covered up the windows with the curtains, shutting off every candle except two that were on the different ends to the night stands.
It wasn't the first time they did this.
Tubbo sat on his bed, open and inviting. Drinking back his pain when his and tommys lips clashed in contact. It was like a breath of fresh air for him. Like he was finally able to breathe after having his head be dunked under water.
Tommy pushed him to lay on the bed, breaking the kiss as he panted lightly. Taking off the small soon-to-be dukes poet shirt off. Making him moan at just how rough he's being.
"Time?"
".. four hours."
"Than let's make the most of it, love."
He took off his own shirt and tossed it down to the floor. Burying his face in the crook of the ram hybrids neck, as he hurriedly took off the both of their trousers.
Once They were finally completely shunned from the suffocating clothing. Their lips embraced together again, the small brunet moaning in arousal as the blond deepened the kiss.
"Shall- shall you have any oil?" Tommy said in a raspy voice when he broke off the kiss. Snorting humorlessly when the boy shook his head no. "Must have been having fun with the girl huh?"
Tubbos breath hitches "No, we- tommy we haven't done any of that.. not until marriage."
Tommy didn't bother replying, spitting into his hand and fingers before digging inside of the young heirs hole. "You act like we haven't done this before."
Tubbo whined, clutching at the silk made sheets. Pressing his teeth together as he attempted to ground himself from the feeling. Whimpering when his ex-lover shushed him with light kisses and mutters.
"You'll be fine darling. You'll feel good soon."
"s'.. s' too much tommy."
The blond ignored how his cock twitched in anticipation of what was to come. Only focusing on lubing and loosening up his boys hole so that they could truly start.
"Mm, can you take a third finger my love?"
He noted down tubbo's hazy nod, taking in a deep breath as he added a third finger. Drinking in tubbo's sounds that escaped his lips.
Tommy decided that the small ram was finally ready enough. He'd prefer to have some oil to make the process better, but his saliva would have to do.
They probably wouldn't be able to do this ever again anyway. They must take in the most of it right?
He spit into his hands again, this time only coating it onto his length. Choosing to lightly ignore tubbos eagerness and protests against how slow he's being. "Hold on, i don't want to hurt you."
"Well hurry up then! We don't have all day tommy!"
He didn't have enough time to continue berating the younger blond, because his head snapped back with a hiss when the head of tommys cock entered his rim. Said boy grunting at the sudden heat and tightness he felt on his member.
"Fuck, i missed you tubbo" he hissed out, groaning with every inch when he pushed it in deeper and deeper. The ram hybrids small tail wagging softly with the more pain and pleasure he felt.
"Tommy.. s' too much, it hurts-"
"You'll be fine darling. Just- hold on a little while."
A soft sound escapes tubbos lips and his cock twitches when he feels tommys pre-come coat his walls and lubricate the insides of him. The boys thrusts become slicker and slicker. The initial burning pain the young heir felt being overrun by the pleasure that took him over.
"Tommy- missed you- i missed you i missed you- i missed you-"
He smiled at the words bittersweetly. It'll probably be the last time he heard his lovers (well.. are they lovers anymore? He is to marry someone now.) voice whisper locked thoughts to him. And fuck- they're supposed to be induced and enjoying pure pleasure right now. Not reminisce on what's to come.
"You're so pretty like this. Prettier than a diamond could ever be."
Tubbo snorted as he tilted his head upwards. "Prettier than the seasons diamond?"
"I don't care about whoever the seasons diamond is, nor do i care about her in general-"
"-i care about you." He said with a hushed tone, grinding against the small ram hybrids hole. Both hissing when he starts to pick up the pace.
"I- i don't want you to g-go-"
"Then run away with me tubbo."
The boy didn't continue the conversation from there. Only purposely focusing on the blissful feeling that the blond was giving him. Unaware of the hurt flash that painted tommy's eyes.
"Please.." Tubbo begged, bucking his hips as a form to gain more friction.
Tommy was happy to oblige.
He rammed inside the boy, making him choke on a surprised gasp as the blond kept slamming into him.
"Tommy!"
And thank god that the walls of the manor were thick with stone. Because god forbid that any of the helpers heard the moans of their young master getting his guts rearranged when he's supposed to meet his fiance in little time.
Quiet 'uh, uh, uhs' slipped tubbos lips as tommy thrusted in and out of him. Savoring each and every one of them until tears started to form just because of how fucking good he felt.
And the blond was no better, groaning with every one of his thrusts. His blue eyes staring deeply into the boy under him. It was deep, it was intimate, and-
He was really going to miss it.
But he's just a mere commoner boy. Even if he had a high status like tubbo, society still wouldn't accept them anyway. And he longs, he longs that someday their relationship would be accepted. That they wouldn't be called 'sinners' for simply being inlove.
He gently coos down to him, softly kissing the crown of his head as he bucked his hips in him. Taking in the almost high-pitched whine.
"Deep- you're deep tommy-"
"I know my love, and you can take it. You will take it." He answered back gently. They didn't need to get rough like they usually did. And it wasn't like an appropriate setting to do so anyway.
Tubbo whimpered, the knot in his stomach becoming tighter and tighter- bound to snap at any given moment. And tommy wasn't so far behind, the thrusting getting faster the closer he got to his breaking point.
Tubbo came first as he screamed tommys name, white semen spilling out from his cock as he raked his hands through the sheets. Tommy coming a minute later, painting the insides of the small ram hybrid with a tight grunt.
They stopped to collect themselves. The blond slipping himself out in favor to lay beside the panting brunet.
A couple minutes passed by after that. Maybe three or four. Tubbo lost count after the second minute hit.
He finally broke the silence with a whisper.
"I always wished i was born a girl for you. So i could satisfy your every need."
"What needs?"
"Kid's tommy. Marriage, and.. Well no shame from being who we are." He replied and moved his head to look at the blond with dazed eyes from the aftermath of their love-making.
"I don't like woman anyway tubbo. Not as much as I like you."
"..still."
Silence overtook them again. The brunet checked his clock and noted that he had an hour and a half before he'd have to leave. (He doesn't know how he's going to look rosebell in the eyes after what he's done.)
Tommy got up in favor to run a bath, taming the water to a nice hot temperature as his ex-lover stood behind him with sleepy eyes.
They finally entered the bath, together. With tubbo laying on tommys chest once they stopped cleaning themselves. Savoring the soft domestic atmosphere that would be their last.
"I'm going to miss you."
"I know. But we both know i have a responsibility i am due to accomplish tommy."
Normally tommy would have argued back, but he figured that there was no point in fighting back. The boy had set his mind to something. And there was no convincing him out of it.
"I'll think of you everyday."
Tommy laughed bittersweetly "Maybe you should just focus on your future wife and soon-to-be kids your grace."
"Don't call me that tommy. And.. I guess. But it doesn't mean that i shall forget you the second i am married." He added. Legs kicking in the water as he moved his head to look at the blond.
"Forget me tubbo. For your wife, for your kids, for you, forget me."
"Tommy-"
"After this you shall forget that i have ever entered your life. Alright? Don't waste your precious life moping for me love. You'd have bigger responsibilities than to worry about me."
Tubbos eyes started to well up with tears, he shook his head and raised it up to speak direct at tommy and-
"Please do it tubbo, It's best for the both of us." Tommy pleaded with tired eyes. He had grown to accept that they just weren't made to be.
"..okay. I- i will."
The bath ended shortly after.
Tubbo was getting himself ready to meet up with his fiance. And tommy was picking up his used clothes from the hours prior that sat on the floor.
Before they could part ways, the young soon-to-be duke jumped into his lovers arms. Giving him a final heartfelt kiss before they would break apart.
But it was only for a moment or two before they heard a knock at the door. The maid questioning if he was awake and ready to leave.
Tubbo responded back quickly with small panic, turning his head around to see his ex-lover climb out the window.
They exchanged no words after that.
But there was a clear message that lingered through the air.
I love you.
----
It was almost time for the ceremony.
Tubbo had stood infront of a mirror, examining himself for the final hour until.. He marries.
And a part of him is screaming at him to leave, to run. That it isn't right. That he should run away from it all.
Maybe thats why he found himself shakily writing two letters. Maybe that's why he's starting to get a carriage ready to head back to the manor and take all of his belongings.
Maybe that's why he's writing a note to his father and soon-to-be ex fiance.
And he feels guilty.
This is what his whole purpose in life was for.
Marry and continue the bloodline right? It's what he's been taught for since the day he turned four.
And now he's going to abandon it all.
(But another part in him purred at what he's about to do. His internal desires insisting that it's right.)
He finally finished the first letter. Putting it neatly in the middle of the dresser. In hopes that when the wedding carriage comes to pick him up, someone will see it and read it. (And take it to rosebell.)
He hovered over the second paper with his heart thumping in his ears. His heart pace picking up more and more as he continued writing.
But he will make no move to stop it. To rip the letters apart and continue on with the original plan.
He read over it quickly before signing it, leaving it in the table before hurrying off to the carriage.
"Take me back to the manor this instant. I don't have much time."
He had fooled the carriage man that he had left important things in the manor. The poor fool unsuspecting as he started to make the horses run all the way home.
Tubbo stared outside the carriages window with a guilt yet relief.
He will fix this. The ram reassured himself that it's the right thing for him.
And he's not quite breaking his promise to tommy. For he is not wedded yet. He'll return to where he righteously belongs.
In tommys arms.
It had to have passed ten or so minutes when they finally arrived to the manor. He quickly got out of the carriage, apologizing internally to the carriage man as he entered the building. Hurrying into his fathers office.
He.. He would usually be against stealing but.. This shall be an exception. For now.
He took as much money as he could before racing to the upstairs of his room. (Silently of course. He can't afford to alert any of the helpers of his presence.)
He picked up one of his sacket bags just to place the money and as much as his personal precious belongings inside. Clothes, old photos, jewelry and extra soap. (Also taking some money he had lying around.) And a couple of more things light enough to carry.
Once he was satisfied with what he had got, he took a final gaze at his room before exiting out the window.
He needs to get to the village.
He scurried out the window with haste, hissing when he accidentally scraped a part of his leg. There wasn't a need to worry about it though. No, not now. Not in this time.
He ran through the garden, and to the familiar wide black gate. Opening and closing it as he ran to the village nearby.
He didn't bother hiding his identity, he wasn't heading to the villages main passage anyway.
Tubbo slided into an alleyway behind it, one that had the pub right next to it.
His lover wasn't one to drink, at least he hopes he isn't, but his best bet would be to look in there first than in the forest. (He never found out where tommys supposed cottage was. And he'd rather not get lost too quickly.) The ram looked into a window of the pub, switching through different windows until-
And thank fucking god he saw the face of the blond boy he loved so dearly.
He couldn't be as subtle as last time. But he can't also alert every person that he was there.
So the brunet made sure nobody had seen him, nor is around to steal his bag.
And he entered the pub.
Not the most subtle, but the cloak he took from his sack was enough.
And he thanked himself for putting on the same cloak that he had put on to find tommy not long ago, because once he stood beside the blond haired boy he immediately recognized him.
"Tubbo?" Tommy whispered with shock induced in his tone. Tubbo gesturing him to follow outside.
Few people eyed them as they walked out the pub.
"What are you doing here?! Are you not to be wedded?"
"I am to be married but..."
"Tubbo!"
Tubbo giggled lightly as he picked up his bag.
"I know, just. Do take us to the cottage of yours? Im.. We don't have the exact amount of time desired."
Tommy seemed to want to protest, but gave in with a shake of his head as they scurried though the alleyway until they would soon reach the forest.
----
After way too much walking and stumbling over logs in tubbos opinion, he finally saw a small wooden cottage up ahead. Letting out a sigh of relief at the thought of finally resting.
"And you have furniture set in the house my love?"
Tommy seemed to flush at the nickname that would normally only be said by him, "there's.. A bed and supplies to make food. Im working on getting money to make it more.. Presentable."
"Then i think we have no problem with that tommy."
"Im not using your money."
The two boys entered the decently sized cottage. And to the brunets surprise it was well kept, a fireplace still to be burning. "Did you realize you-"
"Mmhm, i like coming back home to a warm home. A habit I've gotten from a young age i guess. Because of my father."
The ram hybrid hazily nodded setting his sacket down before lying on the couch that sat in front the fireplace.
"Are you not to explain yourself?"
Tubbo sighed, "later."
"Well pardon me but i was to think that by now you'd be a married man on his way to his very own manor."
"Tommy. You know why im here. We both do." He muttered, ears twitching in annoyance as the blond sat beside him. "You were on about responsibilities not too long ago tubbo. What changed?"
"I did! Okay?! I just.. It didn't feel right when i was sitting in the grooms room. It didn't feel right that it would not be you that i would be to marry."
"..so you denied it infront of everyone?"
"I left before it could start. It's supposed that there would most likely be a riot going on over there as of now. So thank the gods you're living where it shall be hard to find us."
Tommy hummed and leaned closer to him, "than i should be making this place to your liking then, your grace."
"Must you always annoy me with that tommy?" He groaned, yet his tail wagged under him as the blond leaned closer to his chest.
"Of course. Now how much of a good lover shall i be if i don't raise your comfort?"
"Fuck off tommy."
----
Days had turned to weeks, and weeks had turned to months.
And while the duke of the city reigned to find his missing son and the supposed lady he fell inlove with, tubbo was sat with tommy outside their small delicate cottage.
"Have you read the latest news?"
"Your father searching nearby villages?"
"No you numbskull though i am interested to read about that, im talking about the new diamond coming in season. Ms edwina sharmas-"
Tommy scoffed as he kept planting his vegetable seeds. "Must you always keep up with the seasons latest news?"
"Well just because im an ex-blooded of the live family doesn't mean i can completely abandon my roots love."
"What does it say?" And tubbo was a little too excited to share the latest gossip about lady whistedown. The new duchesses child, and an apparent new lord featherington.
"You're in too deep. Have you forgotten that we are to marry next month?"
"Are your brothers and friends coming?"
"Of course they are, we have the luck to have people that love and accept us."
Tubbo chuckled, and stretched as he opened the front door. "You act like your brother is not married to a man."
"Aren't you supposed to be tending the fire my love?"
