Chapter Text
Morning comes quicker than Tails likes. Looking under his blankets again, he now sees the obvious yellow stain on his white mattress, though he also notices barely notices the wetness on his darker colored blanket unless he touches it. Footsteps heading to the attic hatch have him perking his ears and briefly squeaking in alarm. He jolts up and climbs down from his airplane bed then quicky lays the dark blanket over the stain, hoping to hide it from view. The fox quickly scurries to the corner of the attic, hiding his small body into a crevice as he watches with caution and fear.
The attic hatch opens and Maddie pokes her head in. She looks around and quickly realizes that everyone is still asleep. She notes that Sonic is stirring and Knuckles is sleeping like a rock. She climbs into the attic further to check on Tails. Walking near his airplane bed and looking into it, she finds no sign of the cub. "Miles?", She asks the room softly, waiting for an answer. She looks under the fox cub's bed to confirm that he isn't under there before heading back to the attic hatch and going down, figuring that Tails must've already gotten up.
Tails holds his tails close for comfort as he presses himself further into his hiding place. He tries to keep his breathing quiet and calm to not give himself away as he watches with eyes wide and ears up at full attention, ready to run at any sign of disappointment so that he doesn't get hit. His breathing starts to pick up and ears lower when Maddie walks near his bed due to fearing that she'll find his accident. His ears perk and twitch at his name being called softly. He starts to come out of hiding due to the caring tone but stops himself when he smells his tails and notices his currently damp fur fully. He waits for Maddie to leave instead, breathing a sigh of relief once noticing that Maddie finally is gone from the attic.
Tails is relieved to see that his quick idea of covering the evidence of his bedwetting seems to have worked. It'll buy him some time until he finds a better way to hide his mistake. He looks over towards his bed and starts to get an idea into his third mind. Though, for now he'll need to rely on the blanket.
Tails twitches his ears and perks them as he listens to Sonic stirring in his sleep, starting to wake up. Though, once Maddie announces breakfast it's as if the hedgehog was never even there. With the only sign being his disheveled blanket. The fox's own stomach growls and he suddenly seems to have a little more energy despite needing sleep.
Tails starts to cautiously get out of hiding and head back to his bed to look for his Miles Electric. He grabs the device, but the screen is too blurry to do anything as his eyes cross while looking at it.
