Chapter Text
Alex slowly sips her cocoa, eyes on the book laid out in front of her.
Mingi sighs heavily from across the table, “This is so boring.”
Yunho rolls his eyes next to him, “That’s how all the stakeouts are.”
Alex looks up from her book, glancing out the window of the cafe, “The gallery is so much smaller than I was expecting.”
Yunho nods, eyes peeled out the window, “It is rather small.”
Mingi sighs, leaning over to rest his head on Yunho’s shoulder. Yunho pats his cheek. Alex gives them a look and turns back to her book.
“I kinda wish we could go in and see the art,” Yunho says, fiddling with his coffee spoon absentmindedly.
“It would be so much more fun than sitting here and doing nothing,” Mingi says, cheek still squished into Yunho’s shoulder.
Alex looks up again, “How much longer did we plan to stay?”
Yunho checks his watch, “We have another half hour here and then two hours at the Italian place down the street.”
Alex nods, looking back down at her book. She takes another sip of her cocoa.
“Why didn’t you get coffee?” Mingi asks, needing some kind of conversation or something to keep him awake.
“I don’t like coffee,” Alex says, not even looking back up.
“You don’t need the caffeine boost?” Mingi asks, eyes narrowing at her.
“I have reactions to caffeine,” Alex says, looking up at the two practically cuddling in the middle of this random cafe.
“What do you mean by reactions?” Yunho asks, eyebrows furrowed.
“I just get kinda jittery,” Alex says with a shrug.
Yunho looks worried, eyes solidly stuck on her and not the building they were supposed to be watching, “Jittery?”
“Yeah, like my hands get shaky,” Alex says, not worried about it in the slightest.
“That doesn’t sound healthy,” Yunho says, glancing out the window where she’s looking.
Alex watches a couple leave the gallery and walk down the sidewalk into the parking lot next door, “I don’t think it's really a problem, I just avoid caffeine.”
Yunho watches her face for a long moment, deciding to drop the topic. Mingi sighs from his shoulder.
---mentions of shooting people---
“There isn’t much time between the doors and the cars,” Alex says as the couple pulls away.
Yunho and Mingi both look over at the building, “Good thing we’re both a good shot,” Yunho smiles.
“I mean, I am,” Alex says with one eyebrow raised.
Yunho sighed, rubbing a hand over his forehead, “Do I need to apologize again?”
Alex cracks a half smile, “If you want to.”
“You’re mean,” Yunho says with a small frown.
Alex's smile widens, “It’s not my fault, I was pointing out a fact.”
---end of shooting convo---
Mingi sits up, ready to step in and stop any potential conflict.
“Ugh,” Yunho groans, hanging his head slightly.
Alex chuckles, closing her book, “We should move locations, there’s a guy in the corner giving us a weird look.”
Yunho doesn’t move, letting Mingi shift in his seat to get an easier view of the man Alex is mentioning.
The man isn’t hard to spot, he accidentally makes eye contact with Mingi for a moment before looking back down at his laptop.
Mingi turns back, “I feel like I’ve seen him before, let’s wait a few minutes and then leave.”
Alex nods, turning back to her cocoa, wanting to finish it quickly.
Yunho watches her finish it. He takes all three of their empty cups and returns them to the counter as Alex puts her book back into her bag and Mingi gets their notes put away.
Yunho takes Alex’s backpack before she can put it on and smiles down at her, “If we pretend to be a couple maybe he will think he saw the wrong people.”
Alex rolls her eyes but stands up next to him, acting normal as Yunho puts his arm around her shoulders. Mingi makes a weird face but stands as well, slinging his own bag over his shoulder as all three head toward the doors.
They make it outside and halfway down the block to the Italian restaurant before Yunho finally lets go of her. He holds the door open for both of them but keeps her backpack until they reach the table by the window.
They go back and forth between watching the art gallery and their food which turns out super delicious for over an hour until they move spots again.
-
“I’m bored,” Lily says, lounging on her bed.
“Well…” Jongho trails off, putting their board game away.
“I can only play Candy Land so many times in a row,” Lily groans, covering her face with the black crystal blanket.
“How confident are you about venturing out of the room?” Jongho asks, tossing the candy land box on the floor.
Lily sits up rather quickly for the state of her stomach muscles, “Please? Oh my god, I need out of this room.”
Jongho laughs, “Alright, I’ll show you something, come on.” Lily carefully gets up, ready to follow Jongho anywhere at this point.
Jongho leads her into the elevator and presses a button she hasn’t used yet.
“What’s that for?” Lily asks, even as the elevator starts to move down.
“The basement,” Jongho says with a mischievous grin.
Lily gives him a look, “You got a torture room down there?”
Jongho snorts, “No! You’ll see!”
“Okay…” Lily tries to wait patiently until the doors open and she catches sight of the pingpong and pool tables, “Woah.”
“There’s a lot down here, but I was thinking we could go in here,” Jongho leads the way across the floor and through the door into the movie theater.
“You have a whole theater in here?!” Lily gasps, stepping inside to walk around the space. Jongho watches her walk around and steps to the back of the room, turning on their mini popcorn machine.
Lily ends up plopping herself into one of several large bean bag chairs in the front row of the room.
“Here, you can pick anything you want to watch,” Jongho hands her the remote.
She takes it and scrolls through the options on Hulu as Jongho gets the popcorn ready.
“See anything you want to watch?” Jongho asks, putting the popcorn into two large tubs to bring over to Lily.
“What about something like for kids?” Lily suggests, taking Jongho by surprise.
“Realy? No psychological horror movie?” He asks, handing her the popcorn.
Lily shakes her head, “I know I’ve been making you watch medical drama but maybe something light today?”
Jongho nods down at her, he can't argue with that logic at all, “Sounds good to me,” He sits down on the other half of the beanbag.
Lily finds a cartoon that looks fun and presses play.
-
Wooyoung grins at his screen, zooming in on the bean bag.
“Sannie,” He calls across the room to his boyfriend, “Look, they just started cuddling.”
San puts his phone down, scooting his chair back across to Wooyoungs side.
“Omg, that’s so cute,” He coos as they watch Lily and Jongho cuddle through the camera system.
“Who do you think will get together first, them or Yunho and Alex?” Wooyoung asks with a smirk.
San gives him a look, “are you serious? Yunho and Alex are so awkward, it's going to take a year for them.”
“Ugh, you really think it will take that long?” Wooyoung asks, wishing they were home so he could spy on them too.
“It could easily be less time but not as fast as those two little ones,” San points to the pair on the screen.
Wooyoung snorts, “They aren’t that little.”
“They are to me!” San argues back.
“Oh right, you’re old,” Wooyoung teases, poking San’s side.
San huffs, “Stop calling me old, kid.”
Wooyoung just laughs harder.
-
It’s late when Yunho finally parks the car in the garage again. Mingi yawns, slowly climbing out of the passenger seat. Alex sits in the backseat, half asleep.
Yunho rounds the car, standing next to Mingi as they both watch her sit for a long moment. Yunho chuckles, “She’s already falling asleep.”
“You do drive smoothly, it’s probably your fault,” Mingi nudges Yunho’s side.
Yunho chuckles again, opening the back door to try and wake Alex up enough to get her inside and to bed.
“Hmm?” Alex moves, slowly climbing out of the car, looking up at the two tall men in confusion, “When did we get back.”
“A minute ago,” Yunho grabs her backpack and closes the car door, “Ready for bed?”
Alex nods, too tired to really have much spunk, her guard down.
Mingi smiled, throwing an arm around her shoulders to make sure she didn’t wander down the wrong hallway. Yunho trails after them, making sure that the doors are all locked and the car keys are put away.
The house is surprisingly quiet as they walk through the halls and arrive at the girls’ room. Mingi slips down the hallway, heading to his room.
Yunho pushes the door open, peering inside the room. Alex starts to walk in but he grabs her arm, stopping her in her tracks. She lets out a small squeak as she turns to face him, confused and overtired.
“Jongho is in your bed,” Yunho whispers, pulling her back toward the hallway.
Alex turns her head to squint at her bed as Yunho easily tugs her out of the room. He closes the door as softly as he can. She stares at him. He looks down at her and then smiles at her sleepy but also irritated face.
“You can borrow mine for tonight,” He decides, “Come on, you’re about to fall asleep on your feet.”
“Your bed?” Alex asks, confused and about to pull her wrist out of his grip.
“I’ll sleep on my couch, don’t worry,” Yunho says, half pulling and half guiding her toward his own room.
“Um…” Alex finally gives up trying to think and three minutes later Yunho is handing her some of his clothes to wear to bed and shoving her into the bathroom to change.
She stares at the hoodie and shorts in her hand, trying to figure out how she got there. A week ago she was in her own apartment and not in some random man’s bathroom. And a really cute man at that.
She shakes her head to refocus and reluctantly changes into his clothes. She splashes water on her face and slowly steps back out into the bedroom. She can’t prove it but she’s pretty sure Yunho had picked his biggest hoodie cause it reached mid-thigh and the sleeves were way too long for her arms.
Yunho looks up from his phone, lounging on his room’s couch. She looks at him and then at the bed.
“Why is your bed so big?” She asks, looking at what was probably a king-size bed.
“I have long limbs,” He shrugs, watching her step around his room carefully.
“Right,” Alex nods, stepping over to the bed, “Are you sure you don’t want the bed? I can sleep on the couch.”
Yunho shakes his head, “Nope, I’m good right here.”
Alex decides not to try and fight him and climbs up into his bed. She quickly slips into the blankets, humming softly at how soft the sheets were. She takes a deep breath and realizes they smell freshly laundered.
She smiles slightly to herself, pulling the warm blankets up to her chin, “You have good taste in sheets.”
Yunho laughs, “I mean I did get pretty expensive ones.”
“I can tell,” Alex answers, eyes already closing.
Yunho dims the lights, pulling an extra blanket from the closet as he lays back down on the couch. He watches her fall asleep for a few minutes before turning his phone off and deciding to get some sleep himself.
-
“SAN!” Wooyoung screams loud enough to wake the dead.
“What?” San sits straight up on the couch, suddenly awake and ready to fight.
“Look!” Wooyoung rewinds his cameras and frantically waves San towards him. San sighs, realizing there was in fact NOT an emergency. He steps over, plopping himself into Wooyoung’s lap to watch whatever Wooyoung is screaming about.
Wooyoung hits play and San watches with mild interest as they watch Yunho pull Alex back out of her room and into his own.
“It’s been thirty minutes they’ve both been in there and neither have come out!” Wooyoung says, hands flapping in excitement.
San clicks play, watching the clip a second time, “That’s a development.”
Wooyoung starts yapping and ranting about relationships and Yunho finally finds love. San listened as long as he could take it and then turned, pressing his lips to the younger’s, shutting him up very effectively.
Wooyoung kisses him back immediately, hands going still as they find a spot to rest on San’s waist. San grins and pulls back, satisfied at the dazed look on Wooyoung’s face.
“Shhh,” San whispers, patting Wooyoungs head, “We should get some rest, Youngie.”
Wooyoung immediately nods, “Yes, good plan, bed.”
San laughs, standing and pulling Wooyoung with him to their shared room.
-
Lily wakes up first, apparently the only one with a sleep schedule very much against her will.
She stares at the ceiling, mad that she's awake so early. She lays in bed, trying to figure out a way to convince San to give her the nighttime pain/sleeping pills later in the night. 9 pm was way too early for her taste.
She grabs her phone and sees Jongho, hand freezing in mid-air.
Slowly she brings her phone back into her bed, being as quiet as she can be. She stares at his sleeping face, a slight pout on his lips. She smiles, slowly opening her phone's camera app to take a photo of his cute sleeping face.
The shutter noise goes off and she cringes. She throws the phone under her blankets and quickly closes her eyes to fake sleep in case he wakes up.
When she hears nothing she cracks one eye open again, relieved to see he was still soundly asleep. She giggles to herself and opens her phone again, clicking around to pass the time until Jongho wakes up.
-
It takes two hours. By the time Jongho finally starts to stir and wake up Lily is bored out of her mind and restless.
She looks over when he finally sits up and waits for him to realize where he is. His eyes go wide when they land on her.
“Hi,” She says with a grin.
“Hey,” He says, trying to wake up fully, “I fell asleep in here?”
Lily shrugs, “I guess so. It didn’t bother me.”
Jongho chuckles almost nervously, “That’s good I guess,” He looks around, “Oh, crap. I took Alex’s bed.”
Lily laughs, “I’m sure she’s fine.”
“If you say so,” Jongho relents, finding his phone and frowning at the very low battery.
“I have an extra charger if you want it,” Lily offers, pointing at Alex's cord.
Jongho narrows his eyes and shakes his head, “I don’t think so Lils, come on, we need to get you to San anyway to avoid his daily panic attack.”
Lily nods, waiting for him to help her sit up. He hoists her off the bed and leads the way out of the room in search the their doctor.
-
In their shared room, Hongjoong and Seognhwa are having a slow and sleepy morning. Seonghwa runs his fingers through Hongjoong’s hair. Hongjoong’s arms are loose around Seonghwa’s waist, his head on the older’s chest.
They stay like that for a long time, not worrying about any of their kids or running their mafia. Finally, Hongjoong sighs and lifts his head, looking up at Seonghwa.
“Are you getting hungry?” He asks softly, trying to ignore the low grumbles in his stomach.
Seonghwa smiles at him, “Want me to go cook? Or should we do it together?”
Hongjoong smiles, hiding his face in Seognhwa’s chest again, “Together.”
Seonghwa chuckles, petting through his boyfriend's hair again, looking down at him so fondly.
Eventually, they climb out of bed, get dressed, and head down to the kitchen. They work well together as they always have, getting several different dishes together, and placing them in warming dishes so the others could come eat whenever they woke up. Seonghwa dishes out two plates for them while Hongjoong gets them drinks.
Quickly they sent a photo of the food to the group chat and ran out of the kitchen, running to eat in Hongjoongs office where there was a much lower chance of being bothered.
-
Alex slowly wakes up a while later, having slept in. The first thing she knows is that she is very comfortable and warm. The second thing she knows is that someone is laughing quietly and it's not Lily.
She quietly opens her eyes, her gaze falling on Yunho. He’s lounging on the gray couch, playing some kind of game on his phone. He keeps playing, talking quietly, earbuds in his ears.
Alex watches him play, content to stay in the weird warm cocoon between asleep and awake. At least two rounds go by before he looks up, having died early before his friends. He meets her eyes and freezes. She just blinks at him.
“Guys, I have to go,” Yunho says quickly, pulling the earbuds out of his ears and turning his phone off. He puts it all down.
“Did I wake you up?” He asks, smiling sheepishly, “I’m sorry.”
“No, it’s okay,” Alex finally moves, rolling onto her back and stretching her arms out of the blankets. Yunho’s breath catches in his throat when he sees his hoodie sleeves scrunched up on her arms.
After a moment, Alex sits up, looking rather small in the large bed. Yunho can’t hide the smile on his face.
“What?” Alex asks, giving him another suspicious look.
“Nothing!” Yunho says quickly, waving one hand, “Sorry, you just look tiny.”
“Tiny?” Alex asks, unimpressed with the answer.
Yunho shrugs, “I mean, the hoodie is too big and the bed is pretty big too…” He trails off.
Alex looks around her and the expanse of bed and sighs, “Just cause I’m not a million feet tall doesn’t mean I’m tiny.”
Yunho can’t help but laugh, “Really?”
Alex frowns in his general direction, refusing to make eye contact with him. She feels around for her phone.
“It’s on the nightstand,” Yunho says softly, nodding to the phone. He had plugged it in and placed it carefully on the nightstand.
Alex finally looks at him, wondering what his motives for that were. He looks at her with a hopeful smile. She picks up the phone and unplugs it.
“Thank you,” She says softly, knowing she couldn’t ignore the favors he had done for her the night before and this morning.
“Of course!” Yunho says happily, “I didn’t want it to die.”
Alex nods, checking her messages quickly. She rolls her eyes at the photo of Jongho sleeping in her bed, electing to ignore the message altogether. Yunho quickly checks his phone as well.
“There’s food downstairs if you’re hungry at all,” Yunho says softly, pocketing his phone as he stands.
Alex pauses but decides to just go with it, “Sure.”
-
Alex doesn’t even think about the fact that she’s wearing Yunho’s clothes as they enter the already full kitchen.
The whole kitchen goes quiet, all eyes on the two of them. Wooyoung chokes on his juice and San pats his back, eyes on the hoodie.
“Oh my god, they definitely f-” Wooyoung starts to say before San slaps his back extra hard, cutting him off.
Yunho immediately turns bright red, realizing what Wooyoung was insinuating, “You were lurking again weren't you?”
Wooyoung grins, and that’s all the answer Yunho needs, “For your information, nothing happened.”
He’s met with several eye rolls and a few scoffs.
“What?” Alex asks, clueless.
Lily cackles, “You spent the night in Yunho’s room and you come out in his clothes?” She wiggles her eyebrows suggestively.
Alex sighs, “I was dead tired, he stayed on the couch and all we did was sleep. Plus! I only spent the night in there because you had Jongho in OUR room!”
The whole room collectively says “OOOOOO!” Someone wolf whistles.
Lily just grins, “Okay but he’s cute, how could I kick him out?”
Jongho is the second one to turn bright red, brain short-circuiting very quickly.
Alex rolls her eyes, “Alright, whatever. But for the record, nothing happened. You can even ask Mingi, I was practically asleep in the car on the way home.”
Mingi shrugs, “She was,” He admits.
“Okay, guys, everyone chill out. Let them eat, they had a long night,” Seonghwa says, hiding a smirk.
Alex shoots Seonghwa a look, shaking her head as she moves over to the food trays. Yunho sighs and follows her, keeping a bit more distance between them now.
They fill plates with food and move to the table, finding opposite ends to sit separately on instinct, refusing to look at each other for the rest of the meal.
-
Just when everyone was about to disperse, the doorbell rang.
Hongjoong gets up, going to answer it. He comes back with a tall pink-haired man who looks like he’s had several cups of coffee already this morning.
“BamBam!” Lily calls loudly from her seat a the table.
BamBam grins, quickly circling the table to get to her. He stops as he's about to hug her, “Wait, where can I touch?” Once he knows where the wound is he hugs her tightly from behind her chair.
“What are you doing here?” Lily asks, some of the others dispersing as planned, the rest finishing their food or starting to clean up.
BamBam takes a very recently vacated seat next to Lily, “Jack said I had to wait a few days to come check on you. He said you were fine but I had to come see my bestie!”
Lily laughs, “Of course, he thought I was resting and stuff, he’s so dumb.”
Alex rolls her eyes from across the table, “You were.”
BamBam laughs, leaning back in his chair, “I hope you were! You should be, stomach wounds suck ass.”
“Oh yeah, didn’t Yugyeom accidentally stab you that one time?” Lily asks.
“Yep,” BamBam nods, “He still owes me for that.”
“You both are ridiculous,” Alex says, finishing her food.
“Hey!” Lily and BamBam say in tandem.
Alex shrugs, walking away with her empty plate.
“Anyway! Now that Ms. Storm Cloud is gone,” BamBam says, pulling a laugh out of Lily.
“What do you want to do? San won’t let me leave the house.”
“Let’s just find a corner and gossip,” BamBam suggests, standing back up.
“Can Jongho come?” Lily asks, nodding at the other man still at the table.
BamBam shrugs, “I don’t see why not!”
-
The three of them end up in the basement, attempting to play pool.
“No! Bam you have 11-16!” Lily screeches as he puts the 7 ball into a pocket.
BamBam just shrugs, “Maybe I want Jongho to win, ever thought about that?”
“Ugh! If you’re gonna help someone help me!” Lily complains, stomping her foot.
Both boys look at her, wondering if the movement had hurt her. She just pouts.
“Okay, well it’s your turn now,” BamBam nods to the cue ball.
Lily's expression changes almost scarily fast, “Watch and learn boys!”
Jongho chuckles as she lines up her cue and knocks two balls in at once.
“This is why she can never go first,” BamBam tells Jongho as if he was sharing an age-old secret.
“I can see that now,” Jongho nods in agreement. They watch as Lily puts the rest of her balls in the pockets and lines up the 8-ball.
“Corner pocket,” she says, and sinks it.
The boys both clap for her dutifully.
BamBam smirks, “We should play without her.”
Jongho laughs at Lily’s affronted glare.
“Are you serious right now?” She asks, hands on her hips.
Jongho shakes his head, “No, but you shouldn’t play too much longer, I can’t imagine this is easy on your side.”
Lily wants to stay mad but somehow his obvious care for her is worming its way into her heart. She hated it.
“Fine, one more, and then I’ll rest or something.”
BamBam grins, “Perfect, maybe we can beat you this time!”
“As if!”
Lily does in fact, win again, smoking them on her second turn. She does keep her word to Jongho after the game. Unfortunately, he gets a call from Jinsik and has to run out to one of the warehouses, leaving Lily and BamBam in the basement.
“Wait, I haven’t seen their pool down here before!” BamBam walks over to the windows.
“We should go dip our feet,” Lily suggests.
It took a little while for them to find the door to get in, apparently, there was a small locker room off one of the hallways. They kick their shoes off and sit on the edge of the pool, dangling their legs in the cool water.
“So are you actually okay?” BamBam asks, voice less chaotic now.
“Yeah, I am,” Lily says, matching his energy as she stares into the water.
“Good,” BamBam says softly, patting her head.
“I think if I ever get shot again I’d come to San again. I don’t know what’s up with his panic about infections but he’s really good with his medical stuff,” Lily says seriously.
“What, JB wasn’t precise enough with his pliers?” BamBam jokes.
“Oh, my god. Don’t remind me, my leg still hates him,” Lily chuckles, touching the oddly shaped scar on her thigh, “At least the time Alex did it, she didn’t make the wound worse.”
BamBam laughs, “She did do a good job with your arm.”
“Hardly a mark left from that actually,” Lily comments.
A few minutes pass before either of them speaks again.
“So what’s up with Jongho?” BamBam asks, smirking.
“What do you mean?” Lily feigns innocence.
“Don’t play dumb, I know when I see you acting differently.”
Lily sighs, “I hate that you know me that well.”
“Sorry, not sorry. Now spill,” BamBam demands.
“I mean, being completely honest, not much of anything has happened. He’s been very helpful… attentive. We hang out and he helps make this not so boring,” Lily shrugs.
“And you feel how?” BamBam asks.
Lily gives him a look, trying to decide if BamBam would let her off with a smaller amount of information. His face says he clearly won't.
“Fine, I think he’s really cute. And I like his personality. I wouldn’t say I like him like that but he’s cool?” Lily tries to explain.
BamBam is quiet for a moment, “Okay, I believe you. But you have to keep me updated on this potential budding romance,” He says dramatically.
Lily laughs, “Okay, okay, I will.”
BamBam pats her head again, “Good, I look forward to the updates.”
-
It’s pretty late that night when Yunho realizes he hasn’t seen Alex for almost the whole day. He wanders around the mansion, poking his head into different rooms and wondering if she got lost.
He finally finds himself by the library and quietly steps inside, finally spotting her as she sits at a table, working on a stack of papers.
He quietly walks over, standing beside the table in her line of sight, making sure not the creep up behind her and scare her.
“Alex?” He asks softly.
She whips her head up to look at him, “Huh?”
“Sorry, I was trying not to startle you,” Yunho says awkwardly gesturing to the door for no discernible reason.
“It’s okay,” Alex says softly, leaning back in her chair and cracking her knuckles.
Yunho stands there awkwardly, “Um, Alex? How long have you been sitting here?”
“Depends on what time it is,” Alex answers with a yawn.
“It’s almost 1 am,” Yunho says softly.
“Oh,” Alex nods, “I’ve been in here a long time then.”
Yunho nods, “I was kinda worried you got lost in the halls when I couldn’t find you.”
Alex snorts, “I would do that. Luckily I have memorized the turns from the stairs to the room and back and the room to here,” She can’t hide the slightly proud tone in her voice.
Yunho whistles, “Impressive!”
Alex tilts her head, unsure if he was being genuine or not.
“Seriously, I know you were struggling, I’m impressed, you’re doing amazing,” Yunho doubles down.
“Oh,” Alex breathes out the word softly, caught off guard by his praise.
Yunho watches her face open up and his breath catches in his chest.
Alex finally looks away, back down at her many papers.
“Were you almost done?” Yunho asks carefully, not wanting the moment to pass too quickly.
Alex shrugs, “I might be going over the same details too many times.”
Yunho nods, “Do you want any help? I think you should get some rest soon, maybe I can help speed up the process?”
Alex’s instincts are telling her to push him away, to ignore his offer and his worry, and just keep working but something in his voice makes her want to trust him.
And that scares her even more than her friend almost dying.
“You know, you’re right, I should probably get some rest. The papers aren’t going anywhere,” She slowly stands, muscles tense from sitting for hours.
Yunho hovers awkwardly, helps her pile up the papers and sets a book on top so they don't accidentally flutter away. He follows her toward the door and shuts the lights off behind them.
She really has memorized the route back, he follows her this time and pauses at her door as she opens it.
It’s clear Jongho isn’t inside this time and Alex awkwardly waves, solidly inside the room.
Yunho waves back, “Sleep well, Alex.”
She nods and closes the door, making herself not slam it.
Yunho sighs once it clicks closed and slowly makes his way to his room. He gets into his bed, slightly disappointed that she wasn’t with him. At least until he breathes in and realizes that he can smell a new scent in his sheets.
It’s her, and he likes it.
