Megan beamed with happiness, feeling giddy as she hugged JJ close to her side, savoring the warmth and comfort of being together. She couldn’t believe how everything had changed so quickly, and now, she had her boyfriend right next to her. Just as they shared a blissful moment, a sudden ruckus erupted behind them. She was happy that she had found her first love even though it took a long time to get to where they are at now.
“Hey, JJ!” John B’s voice called out, bursting with excitement. Before Megan could react, JJ was lifted off his feet in a surprise tackle from behind. John B and Pope grabbed him, tossing him into the air as if he were a rag doll, laughter ringing out through the bookstore.
“What the—! Guys, wait!” JJ shouted, his laughter mingling with theirs as he flailed in midair before they caught him again, a wide grin plastered on his face.
Megan watched, both shocked and amused, as they sprinted toward the mall’s exit, dragging JJ along with them. “Where are they taking him?” she laughed, glancing at Sarah, who was equally entertained by the scene unfolding before them.
“Probably outside to celebrate!” Sarah replied, her eyes sparkling with mischief. “They’ve been waiting for this moment since forever!”
As they reached the door, John B and Pope hoisted JJ up one more time, cheering, “Finally! Our boy JJ has found the love of his life!”
Megan giggled, her heart swelling at the sight of JJ, who looked both thrilled and slightly embarrassed, but mostly happy. “You guys are ridiculous!” he yelled, but there was no mistaking the joy in his voice.
Megan and Sarah exchanged amused glances, laughter bubbling up as they watched the boys run out into the parking lot, their carefree spirits infectious. “They’re just as excited as we are,” Sarah said, shaking her head in disbelief.
“I can’t believe this is happening,” Megan said, her heart soaring as she watched JJ being celebrated by his friends. “I’m so happy for him. For us!”
They followed the boys outside, where the sun was shining brightly, and the laughter of the group filled the air. John B and Pope were still hyping up JJ, who was laughing and trying to playfully escape their grasp.
“Come on, JJ! Time to celebrate your newfound love!” Pope called, his voice teasing.
Megan ran to join them, her heart racing with excitement. “You guys are the best!” she called out, feeling a rush of affection for JJ and his friends.
As they surrounded him, JJ finally broke free, turning to Megan with a grin that made her heart flutter. “Help me, babe!” he shouted playfully, reaching for her.
She rushed to his side, wrapping her arms around him protectively. “I’ve got you!” she said, her voice playful and filled with warmth.
With the three of them laughing and teasing, it felt like the world had transformed into a joyous celebration. In that moment, surrounded by the people she cared about, Megan realized that this was exactly where she wanted to be—by JJ’s side, sharing in the laughter and love of their friends as they all celebrated the start of something beautiful together.
“Okay, let’s take this celebration to the next level!” John B said, leading them to a nearby ice cream shop, and the group followed, their spirits high, ready to indulge in treats and more laughter.
As they walked, JJ turned to Megan, his expression sincere. “Thank you for being you. I can’t wait to share more moments like this with you.”
Megan smiled up at him, feeling like the luckiest girl in the world. “Me too, JJ. This is just the beginning.”
With her hand in his, they stepped forward together, ready to embrace whatever adventure lay ahead.
