I have a confession to make: I never saw Carlando in action at McLaren
I had several hiatus watching F1. In my childhood (when Schumacher won everything), every Sunday lunch was accompanied by the sound of F1 cars (my mother hated it and always asked to mute the TV). At the time, F1 was broadcast on a free public channel, but after some years, they decided to switch to cable TV (I never had cable TV. Yes I never saw Cartoon Network) and we stopped watching.
A few years later, in the era of Sebastian Vettel/Mark Webber in Red Bull, my brother went back to watching F1 on some unofficial sites (if you know what I mean. VPNsā¦) and I saw some races. To be totally honest, I couldnāt watch a whole race, I found it boring, but I had a crush on Webber š . However, my brother got tired of watching the races with poor video quality, so stopped watching again (and so did I).
He started watching again a few years back with the rise of F1 TV (yes, HE SAW CARLANDO IN ACTION AND NEVER TOLD ME ANYTHING). I wasnāt that interested because he watched the races on the computer/iPad, and for me, thatās too small. However, this year he managed to put it on TV (thanks Apple TV) and I finally started to watch F1 with enthusiasm (and watching an entire race from start to chequered flag). My brother says it was the best season for me to start watching F1 again and that maybe Iāll get spoiled (thanks Max, Lewis and FIA šæ).
When I become interested in something, I start searching everything related, so I began watching videos from the F1 YouTube channel, and oh hello, Carlos Sainz Jr š. Searching for Mr. Smooth Operator, I ended up finding McLarenās challenges and fell in love with Carlando.
So yeah, Iāve never seen Carlando in action (at McLaren). Thatās why I make so many posts of them. For me itās not a āblast from the pastā, itās a recent discovery.
PS: No, I never saw Drive to Survive.
