We know Mac is quite cunning as well as pretty smart. Which is why I think he’d very easily get the hang of modern technology, if he wanted to… so why not use the modern world to enact his revenge against the King? He’s fought Wukong so many times with his magic/in the traditional way, why not choose a different route for once?
And much to his delight it works out better than he ever could have imagined…
I call this mini AU Shadoware, it’s something I came up with while thinking about potential routes for LLR and I simply wanted to get it down on paper :]

being a little devious with Stolen Sun AU-
*secretly slides in hidden wrist and ankle bands to repress his powers (making him powerless) that Macaque added, telling Wukong that when he came to help at first and he asked about them, Wukong said under no circumstances to take them off of him. Macaque didn't push further, and that's the story they ran with.
Wukong absolutely believes that, though. Thinks that he put them on himself and just refuses to take them off :)
