"average elf uses 3 brain cells a year" factoid actually statistical error. average elf uses 0 brain cells per year. Braincells Elrond, who lives in Imladris & uses 10,000 brain cells every day, is an outlier adn should not have been counted.
whenever characters have a weird dad and a missing/dead/unmentioned mom the fandom tendency is to assume she's normal to balance it out. but it's always valid to instead assume she matched his freak. that she was freakier. if canon won't give you enough insane women to work with it's always morally correct to fill in the blanks with your own
So I thought of a new way to make Elrond’s life worse :)
So after the Celebrían debacle, Elladan and Elrohir began attempting to systematically wipe out every orc in Middle Earth, right? Of course, on such a quest, accidents are bound to happen. And as we saw in his Song-battle with Finrod, Sauron just loves pushing people’s trauma buttons…
Elrond gets a letter from Mordor saying that his twin sons have been kidnapped, and he can only get them back if he pays the ransom of an Elven ring of power.
never let anyone tell you that trawling through mediocre victorian poetry isn't worth it. we just happened upon an absolute BANGER of a worm poem. go read it or else 🪱🪱🪱
Absent-Minded
Elrond gets sick, which is normal. Elrond loses most of their memories, which is not. Elrond has guards wearing the eight-pointed star at every door and window, which can't be.
A memory loss hurt/comfort fic in which Elrond correctly surmises the whole hostage thing, but is wrong about all the details.
