To anyone interested in learning about Artsakh, its history and the struggle of Artsakhi Armenians for freedom and self determination, I suggest checking out Learn For Artsakh initiative (@/learn4artsakh on Instagram). They share a lot of information on these topics and spotlight the interconnection of violence inflicted on the indigenous groups in the region by the colonizing powers.

They also have an e-library with free pdfs of many books written by Armenians about Artsakh as well as literature about DR Congo, Sudan, Palestine and other nations experiencing genocide (scroll down to the “Libraries Against Genocide” section).

Pinned Post armenia artsakh gonna tag other countries/nations that have books and articles about them in the library too palestine sudan dr congo kashmir tigray circassian assyrian ezidi yezidi native american first nations they also add books to it so i suggest checking it from time to time to see if anything's new there hopefully someone will find this useful

Not sure if anyone tells you this often enough (I hope they do) but I’m genuinely so glad that you also enjoy infamous because you do so amazing at bringing the world to life and giving these characters an image to follow that works so well (I myself have problems being able to visualize certain characters sometimes even after being giving a description). Your art is stunning!! Thank you for sharing it here with us!!!!!

oh my god thank you so much!!! I have to admit I am pretty self-conscious posting about infamous much because I feel like I’m being annoying lol (“I am cringe but I am free” I tell myself through gritted teeth). This message was really needed, thank u!

have the greatest day ever anon!.. ask

the loss of artsakh and its ethnic cleansing is a direct continuation of the armenian genocide

"Grandma's Tattoos" (2011) is a documentary film by Suzanne Khardalian. The filmmaker goes on a journey to investigate her family's history and reveal the fates of thousands of Armenian women and girls, who survived the 1915 Armenian Genocide but were forced into prostitution by their captors.

April 24th is Armenian genocide remembrance day.

If you don't know what that is, take some time today to research and educate yourself on the events. Here's a good starting point to learn about what happened to armenian population of Turkey in 1915:

There's also this website, but if you decide to open photo archives tw for literally everything (it's brutal):

Hear our stories, listen to our music and look at our art today. Despite everything we are still here and we aren't going anywhere. Never again.

120 000 indigenous armenians of Artsakh are under blockade by Azerbaijan for more than 100 days at this point. People have no adequate access to food, clothes and medicine. Here are ways to donate, here are official letters to send and here you can write a complaint about the witch Ursula who loves azeri oil money more than she respects human life.

It's been more than 100 years but Turkey still continues its attempts of complete eradication of armenian life, now with the help of its brotherly dictator state of Azerbaijan. In these times stand against Turkey's and Azerbaijan's genocidal retorics and actions, support Armenia and support Armenians.

Also keep in your thoughts our Assyrian and Greek siblings who fell victims to the Turkish terror alongside Armenians.

I think the problem with the people's perception of this topic lays in the thought that the Genocide has ever truly ended. Even for those who know about it (which may not seem like that online but unfortunately it's NOT the majority of people in the real life) the events seem to be far away, almost buried in history. Which may be true for some, but definitely not for Armenians. Every year members of the community remind everyone about the Genocide not only out of want for it to be recognized and remembered, but also because it continues to happen 'TILL THIS DAY.

Artsakh was completely ethnically cleansed of its indigenous Armenian population of 120.000 people just last year, in September, by Turkey's closest ally and "brotherly nation" of Azerbaijan. And before that, in 2020 hundreds thousands of Armenians lost their homes; many, including civilians, had been killed, tortured and abducted in the war by the same fascist country of Azerbaijan. Of course with the help of Turkey, again.

I have said before, that the world has failed us, and what I meant by it is that the most powerful world governments are ALL complicit in the horrors we have to go through. Our deaths and suffering is politically and monetarily beneficial to them. The US and its NATO ally - Turkey, along with Israel - are one of the biggest sellers of weapons to Azerbaijan, while EU buys their gas to distance themself from Russia. Ironically enough part of that gas supply is actually Russian. Changing one genocidal partner to a different one doesn't make sense, but as long as people that are dying are not on the European doorstep it's all cool, I guess.

At this point, I have been thinking for months about what update I should give in this post, and as much as I would like to put out something inspiring and hopeful, I just can't bring myself to it. Currently Armenia is under a very real threat of invasion (internationally recognized Armenian territories have been occupied for 4 YEARS btw) and when this happens, I am afraid we will face this alone. Again. Our people are strong, creative and resilient and I am sure our culture will continue to live on, even in the worst circumstances, but the thing is - we shouldn't be in these circumstances to start with. The complete disregard of our situation by the world, and even worse - the benefits that this world reaps from it, the impunity, hypocrisy, ignorance - is what breeds a monster the existence of which seems to be unreal in the year 2024. Especially when it could have been prevented.

Today spend your time learning more about the Armenian genocide, learn about the struggles of Artsakhi Armenians for freedom and self determination, donate, write to your governments, reach out to your Armenian friends and local Armenian communities, look at our art, listen to our music, hear our stories, remember us. Despite everything, we are still here and we are not going anywhere. Peace.

unfortunately all of this is still true I haven't posted about it here but azerbaijan has been shelling armenian borders again it just never ends but hey! at least europe got a new reliable partner to keep its houses warm in the winter am i right?? 😁

Talaat Pasha's Official Orders Regarding the Armenian Massacres, March 1915-January 1916

March 25th, 1915

To Djemal Bey, Delegate at Adana:

The duty of everyone is to effect on the broadest lines possible the realization of the noble project of wiping out of existence the well-known elements [note: Armenians] who for centuries have been the barrier to the empire's progress in civilization.

We must, therefore, take upon ourselves the entire responsibility, pledging ourselves to this action no matter what happens, and always remembering how great is the sacrifice which the Government has made in entering the World War. We must work so that the means used may lead to the desired end.

In our dispatch dated February 18th, we announced that the Djemiet has decided to uproot and annihilate the different forces which for centuries have been a hindrance; for this purpose it is forced to resort to very bloody methods. Certainly the contemplation of these methods horrified us, but the Djemiet saw no other way of insuring the stability of its work.

Ali Riza [Note: the committee delegate at Aleppo] harshly criticised us and urged that we be merciful; such simplicity is nothing short of stupidity. We will find a place for all those who will not cooperate with us, a place that will wring their delicate heartstrings.

Again let me remind you of the question of property left. This is very important. Watch its distribution with vigilance; always examine the accounts and the use made of the proceeds.

THE DJEMIET

To the Prefecture of Aleppo:

We advise that you include the woman and children also in the orders which have been previously prescribed as to be applied to the males of the intended persons [Armenians]. Select employees of confidence for these duties.

Minister of the Interior, TALAAT.

To the Prefecture of Aleppo:

You have already been advised that the Government, by order of the Djemiet, has decided to destroy completely all the indicated persons [Armenians] living in Turkey.

All who oppose this decision and command cannot remain on the official staff of the empire.

Their existence must come to an end, however tragic the means may be; and no regard must be paid to either age or sex, or to conscientious scruples.

Minister of the Interior, TALAAT.

To the Prefecture of Aleppo:

It appears, from the interventions which have recently been made by the American Ambassador [Note: Mr. Morgenthau] at Constantinople on behalf of his Government, that the American Consuls are obtaining information by some secret means. They remain unconvinced, despite our assurance that the deportations will be accomplished in safety and comfort.

Be careful that events which attract attention shall not occur in connection with those who are near cities and other centres. In view of our present policy, it is most important that foreigners who are in those parts shall be convinced that the expulsion of the Armenians is in reality only deportation.

Therefore it is necessary that a show of gentle dealing shall be made for a while, and the usual measures be taken in suitable places.

All persons who have given information to the contrary shall be arrested and handed over to the military authorities for trial by court-martial. This order is recommended as very important.

To the Prefecture of Aleppo:

We are informed that some correspondents of Armenian journals are acquiring photographs and letters which depict tragic events, and these they give to the American Consul at Aleppo.

Dangerous people of this kind must be arrested and suppressed.

To the Prefecture of Aleppo:

We are informed that foreign officers are finding along the roads the corpses of the indicated persons, and are photographing them.

Have these corpses buried at once and do not allow them to be left near the roads.

This order is recommended as very important.

To the Government of Aleppo:

We are informed that certain orphanages which have opened also admitted the children of the Armenians.

Should this be done through ignorance of our real purpose, or because of contempt of it, the Government will view the feeding of such children or any effort to prolong their lives as an act completely opposite to its purpose, since it regards the survival of these children as detrimental.

I recommend the orphanages not to receive such children; and no attempts are to be made to establish special orphanages for them.

To the International Community,

Be on guard. Be vigilant when your own land, your cities, and your institutions are being used by foreign dictators to falsify history, appropriate the culture of others, and lay the groundwork for yet another genocide and ethnic cleansing.

The latest event, titled "western azerbaijan in our memories," was held in Warsaw, Poland on April 8th. During this exhibition, a spokesperson for the so-called “western azerbaijan community,” presented fictional claims about the “forced displacement of western azerbaijanis” in the 20th century and the supposed “destruction of azerbaijani heritage” in the territory of the Republic of Armenia. According to her, “western azerbaijanis,” who were “forcibly removed from their ancestral lands,” are entitled under international law to return.

Archaeological, genetic, and anthropological studies (conducted by non-Armenians), as well as numerous scriptures of historical significance (again, written and preserved by non-Armenians), all prove and confirm that the Armenian people are indigenous to historical Armenia [the Armenian Highland], with roots going back as far as the 13th century BC, emerging without admixtures.

azeris, on the other hand, only emerged as a nation in the 19th and 20th centuries. And yet, despite all facts, logic, and historical evidence, azerbaijan continues to claim that Armenia is actually “western azerbaijan.” [more here]

petrostate azerbaijan has organized similar propaganda events in Rome at the Pontifical Gregorian University, attempting to present Armenian churches, towns, and sacred sites — as "azerbaijani" or "caucasian albanian." [more here]

This is a deliberate, state-sponsored lie — part of a bigger campaign of historical erasure, cultural appropriation, and preparation for future wars and aggression.

And now, they’re exporting that lie to your countries.

azerbaijan is not merely making territorial claims; it is executing a state-sponsored propaganda campaign aimed at legitimizing its false narrative of "western azerbaijan." This campaign is led by a government-backed entity called the "western azerbaijan community", officially launched in 2022 but rooted in older revanchist ideologies.

Let’s ask honestly: why is Europe giving space to this? Why are countries that "champion" human rights and historical truth being used as tools in a disinformation campaign that serves to justify cultural erasure and future war?

Cultural erasure begins with soft words and staged sympathy.

So please, if you’re reading this from Warsaw, Rome, or anywhere else, ask questions, do your own research. Pay attention. Don’t let your silence be the seal of approval.
Be vigilant. Be careful. Don’t let your countries, your cities, or your people be put on the wrong side of history
.

at this point begging people to at least just read and be aware of such things happening because unfortunately i *know* that non-armenians won't do anything on behalf of armenians e.g. write to their -> government/local administration and ask ''hey why the hell are we hosting these events''. or actively protest them whatever. please read this armenia
