What is this blog for? This network was created to bring together content creators who love asian cinema, and to bring a spotlight to more underrated and perhaps even ignored parts of asia as well! Furthermore, we noticed that a lot of networks like these allow fetishists, fujos, racists, and pedophilia/incest/abuse/etc. apologists ("anti-antis" or "proshippers") into their ranks, which we take an active stance against. We hope to become a reliable source for people new to asian cinema and old enjoyers alike. If you're a content creator and you are interested in joining as a member, check out our application page here!

What happens after I join asiancinemasource?Once you've gone through an application round and have been accepted into the network you will be able to start using the #asiancinemasource tag on your creations. We check this tag regularly and reblog our members' content from here.
-
Am I allowed to apply with a sideblog/multifandom blog?Yes, you are allowed to apply with a sideblog or a multi-fandom blog. Please keep in mind that this is a blog specifically about asian cinema, however, so make sure you post about that (either original or reblogged content) regularly. A benchmark would be roughly 30% of your blog content.
-
Why the 30% asian cinema-related content? This is so members are actively blogging about asian cinema when they join the network; there's nothing wrong with posting about other things, but if it's just one gifset every month of The Handmaiden, it'd be better not to apply to our network.
-
Do I have to be a content creator to join the network? It depends! While we are mainly looking for content creators to join our network, considering we are focused on spreading asian media made by content creators who enjoy that on Tumblr, we are also looking for people who write image descriptions. We reblog everything from gifsets & GFX, to fanart & fanfiction, to icons & headers, to video edits & translations. As we are trying to make this blog as accessible as possible, we will add image descriptions on every post that we reblog; currently we are pretty understaffed in this regard so if you're not a CC but do want to join, consider helping out by applying to be a member writing image descriptions!

Why haven't I been accepted into the network?
If your application to the network was not accepted, it may have been because:
1. You are in violation of the rules. This is a network specifically created because so many others are open to fujos, racists, and pedophilia/incest/abuse/etc. apologists ("anti-antis" or "proshippers"), which we do not condone.
2. Your blog doesn’t have a minimum of 30% asian cinema-related content.
3. You have edited content from someone else without permission and/or proper credit.
4. You have reposted content from other content creators without their consent. We also do not condone any form of reposting/stealing of others’ content and/or disregarding the crediting policies of fansites. Whilst going through our applications we do look out for these and if we find you to have done any of these it is likely you will not be accepted. However, you may re-apply in the next round. If we find your blog meets all the criteria in your second application, we will accept you into the network.
-
Why am I not on/have I been removed from the members' page?
If you have not been added to/have been removed from the members’ page, it is most likely because:
1. Your application has not been finalized yet.
2. You are no longer following the network. You will have to follow us and send us a message to be added back.
3. Your blog is inactive.
4. You have been given more than two warnings for violating the network rules.
5. You are bullying/harrassing another member of this network and/or you have made a rude comment about another member. We do not condone this kind of behaviour. -
Can I use #asiancinemasource if I'm not a member of the network? No. While we acknowledge that anyone can use tags as they wish on tumblr, we ask you to refrain from using the network tag, as that will make it harder for us to find our members' content.
-
I used the #asiancinemasource tag yet my content isn’t being reblogged. What happened?
Your content won’t be reblogged for one of three reasons:
1. Your post(s) did not show up in the tag. Make sure that you use the #asiancinemasource tag within the first five tags otherwise your content won’t show up for us when we search them. If after one week we still haven’t liked your post, send in a link of said post and we will have it queued as long as it abides to our rules.
2. Your post(s) has/have violated the network rules.
3. You are not a member of the network. We only reblog posts tagged with #asiancinemasource that come from our members because we are a closed network. Non-members who tag their content with #asiancinemasource will get a DM asking to refrain using our tag.
4. Refer also to the next question. -
What are the requirements my post has to meet for it to be reblogged onto the network? If your post is about asian cinema (this includes central asian and west/southwest asian cinema) and if it meets the requirement of being original content (i.e. not stolen/reposted), if it does not include content that the original owner has not given permission to be edited (i.e. paparazzi/fan-taken pictures or videos, scans, etc.), if it does include content that isn’t yours but it is credited properly and according to the original owner’s wishes, then we will reblog it.
There may be some occasions where we find a post is a bit vague in its direct relation to asian cinema, or where we consider it more of a personal post than network content (text posts along the lines of "shitposts" and the like). We may not reblog such posts if we don’t find them suitable for the network.
