What a lovely way to spend a few hours, watching the happy occasion of William and Kate's Royal Wedding on television. Like most of us I was eager to see her wedding dress and I thought she looked beautiful and feminine, yet tastefully understated - as much as a royal wedding in Westminster Abbey in front of 1900 people can be understated. Regency Georgian era blonde lace tambour fichu / pelerine from 1830. It is hand stitched, made of a sheer fine off white blonde net lace, with tambour embroidery work chain stitching done in a floral spray vine leaf pattern design. 53 inches in circumference at the top, 76 inches along the bottom and is 15 inches wide.
