This container flowered from February to May, starting with dwarf Iris, followed by crocuses, hyacinths, muscari and tulips. We planted the bulbs in layers so that each variety could be at the correct depth. Smaller bulbs need to be planted shallower than larger bulbs. So we planted tulips and hyacinths in the lower layers and crocuses, iris and muscari in the upper layers. Always ensure there is at least 15cm of soil below the lowest planted layer so all those bulb roots have somewhere to grow and find moisture!
