Emily Chen on Instagram: "A throwback to one of my favorite little hacks for blending hairline greys. It’s super easy & allows for subtle coverage WITHOUT creating any regrowth/demarcation lines. We went with a level 7 gold-neutral in this scenario because the majority of her hair is highlighted blonde. But I know some of you might be wondering if you can use a darker shade of Demi to blend grey on your non-highlighted brunettes, and the answer is YES. For those scenarios, I like using a Demi 1-2 levels lighter than their natural base. A few months ago, she reached out and wanted to talk about embracing some of her natural grey. I know I post a ton of “one day” grey transitions on here, BUT the reality is that MANY clients can’t or don’t want to sit through huge full day project like that. After a thorough consultation, we decided to take the slow & steady route to get her to grey.

For her first visit out of this series, we started with a level 6 demi base of 6N REGULAR colorance (but mixed 1:1). We highlighted through to blend the demarcation.

For this most recent visit, we upped her demi one more level and used 7N REGULAR colorance (mixed 2:1 like a good rule follower 😇). We al 7n Hair Color With Highlights, Demi Grey Blending, Level 6 Hair Color, Rule Follower, Hair Goal, Grow Out, Hair Colour, Hair Goals, Talk About
