For many people, fashion and clothes are a way to express their personality, showcase their creativity, and add some fun and color to their lives. But what you might not realize is that what you wear can seriously affect your image - especially as you get older.

Not all dresses are created equal! I’m not talking just about the style, fabric, and cut, though. Quality is something that rarely happens by accident; it’s a slow, methodical process that takes patience, creativity, sleepless nights (hello, coffee, my old friend!), and countless revisions. Creating a fabulous dress takes time and effort: you can’t call something a dress if you randomly slap together some bits of fabric.

This is Laura. She is a second-hand (but no less precious) doll given to me by my best friend, Nia! She was originally meant for someone else, as her previous owner neglected her, and Nia’s mother was about to throw her away. Long story short, Nia and I got really attached to her as we are both doll people, so we bonded over this shared love and became closer. I started to make clothes for Laura when I realized that she has little to no clothes, and Nia and I started sewing together…
