When the band of heroes finally regains Toad Hall for their dear friend Toad, they enjoy a family style dinner around his table. What a wonderful scene! This also makes me wonder if any of them had families, or perhaps if the characters were meant to be orphans for the sake of their friendship in the novel? Interesting things to ponder!
