Top 10 Scariest Local Filipino Monsters in the Philippines: From Aswang to the White Lady! - When In Manila
Manananggal- Filipino folklore: a female vampire like creature that appears human by day, but by night it detaches from its torso, sprouts wings from its back, and flies into the night to suck out the hearts of fetuses inside pregnant women, with its long proboscis like tongue. Its weakness is that it leaves its legs rooted to the ground. If salted the vampire would have no place to go, leaving it to die at sunrise.
The Tik Tik (aka Wak Wak) from Filipino folklore. An Aswang that feeds from a pregnant woman's womb with their long, thread-like tongue. Named for the ticking sound they make.
