I eat Curtido con pupusas, not pupusas con curtido. It’s fresh and adds texture to all your meals. Curtido is used in many Salvadoran dishes, such as enchiladas, con pastelitos, con yuca frita, etc. You can eat it with anything. One of my favorite things to throw it in top of is el Arroz curtido/arroz negrito, or whatever name you know it as.

My mom and dad are from San Vicente and just last weekend they were sharing that in San Vicente there used to be a lady in their youth that would sell curtido con arroz negrito in a bag. It was half and half and you would shake the bag to get a good mix and eat it like a charamusca. Have you ever tried it this way?
