Lydia Bolton on Instagram: "Easy upcycle: how to make a sweater vest from an old jumper 🧶 ✂️ ❤️ 1. Unpick/cut off the sleeves. Depending on experience, you can carefully through the stitching joining the sleeves or just cut through the knit 2. Overlock around the raw sleeve edge 3. If you want to crop the sweater vest, cut off the rib 4. Cut the jumper shorter and pin the rib at the shorter length 5. Overlock the rib back on & steam 6. Fold in the overlocked edge of the sleeve and pin 7. Blanket stitch around the sleeve to secure the hem around the arm hole This is a pretty quick diy and a great way to upcycle an old jumper (or maybe one that shrunk) to make a cropped sweater vest.
