This piece was my first ever mid century modern restoration, completed in 2022, and I’ve been obsessed ever since. Now i am a collector of Brasilia pieces 🤣 so you can say I’m regretting selling the piece! I found this mid century modern set on Facebook Marketplace and saw past the damage to its true potential! Restoring the large oil stained top and badly damaged veneer was definitely a challenge, but with the right products and techniques you can fix almost anything!

Here's how I made over this laminatge MCM dresser that I found at a yard sale for cheap!

After cleaning everything and scuffing up the slick surfaces, I primed the laminate with KILZ Restoration primer, painted it with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Oxford Navy and sealed it with Behr Water Based Polyurethane.

The incredible mid century handles got a little refresh with some Rustoleum Metallic Gold and the legs were sanded back to show off the only wood part of this thing and stained in Minwax Early American penetrating wood stain.

Not too bad for a $5 yard sale dresser, right!?!?
