Kristen Bos | Doctor of Physical Therapy on Instagram: "Struggling with tightness, pain and pulling on the outside of your thigh?  If this sounds like you, you might have an issue with your IT band!  The IT band is a long band of connective tissue that runs from the outside of the hip into the outside of the knee. So the actual IT band itself does not contract.  However, at the top of the IT band at the hip is a muscle called the TFL (tensor fascia lata). When this muscle gets overworked and tight it pulls on the IT band causing the irritation and pain you are feeling!   So to find long lasting relief we want to find the weakness in the hip that caused this muscle to overwork in the first place 🤔   I often find this due to the gluteus medius and gluteus minimus not working enough causing It Band Stretches Knee Pain, Thigh Muscle Pain, It Band Pain, Tight It Band, Gluteus Minimus, Tensor Fasciae Latae, Fascia Lata, Band Stretches, It Band Stretches
