Oh it’s dire. The people in the notes don’t know Buck’s current love interest is a man who he’s in a will they won’t they situation with and they just hooked up two episodes ago.
the amount of people who think 911 is supernatural 2.0 level queerbait when there’s been a married lesbian couple central to the plot since season one episode one and one of the supposed “bait” characters is canonically bisexual in a situationship with a gay man is genuinely upsetting, and i can’t blame anyone who hasn’t seen the show for thinking that
the canon queer characters who are actually in the show and who you should actually talk about. i am only counting the ones that are reaccuring to season 8 (the current season airing) as other queer characters are no longer in the show (Eva, Michael, David + the multitude of other queer minor characters)
Hen & Karen Wilson: two black lesbian women who have been married since season 1. Hen works for the 118 fire house and Karen is a rocket scientist. They have two children together and fostered other children.
Josh Russo: Works at the LA emergency dispatch as a lead supervising dispatcher, best friend to Maddie [Buckley] Han (man of honor at her wedding!!!!). Loves Halloween and reality television, and all around warm, kind man who deserves someone!!!!
Evan “Buck” Buckley & Tommy Kindard: Buck (Bi) and Tommy (Gay). They are in a bit of a will-they-won’t-they-sleeping-with-your-ex-situationship. Buck is newly out and works at the 118 fire house. Tommy has been out for a few years who has past history with the 118 fire house and currently is a firefighter pilot.
