Impossible not to compare to Myst, but fundamentally different in so many aspects. What the game expects from you, and what it gives back in return. Unforgettable, maybe moreso than Myst. I see so many of these rooms and cliffsides in my head.

Fascinating game, glad I played it, but I don't have the patience for these sadly.

What a fantastic remake. It’s just different enough from the original to feel fresh, while similar enough to bring me back to my dad’s home office in fifth grade. The puzzle design is so clean and so well integrated into the world.

This is how games should be remade. Riven is far more than just a modern copy of the original, it is a reimagining that improves upon the source material at every turn. The new puzzles are more intuitive and satisfying, the world building is even better than the original, and everything just looks gorgeous.

I prefer the original game, but still love this version of it too
