However, after my fair share of encounters with Mr. X, I started adapting to his mechanics and presence and thus began to love the thrill. What's more, the exceptional sound design further pushes that intense atmosphere and pressure tightening around you, creating a feeling you can't find in many horror games. What the development team created here with Its environment and sound design, making each new area, room, and hallway feel fresh and alive, is what I thrive to experience in survival horror games.
Though, as much as I adored my time with this game, I found Tyrant's footsteps more horrifying than anything present in the latter half of the game, as I can't say I'm too fond of the Sewers-Lab stretch. With the excessive amount of ammo and material handouts, I felt it took away from the survival aspect. Rationing and strategizing with what I had was easily one of my favorite parts of the game, as I found it challenging, though I suppose it's not that big of a deal and is more of a little nitpick. My first playthrough was in standard mode, so perhaps I'm at fault here, but this Isn't the first RE game to make me feel this way about how overwhelming the endgame can feel.
Without diving too much into it, Scenario B was quite tiresome after the first hour as you fall into the same objective loop. I enjoyed what was new, though It wasn't good enough to void my feelings of boredom. Negatives aside, I enjoyed my time and will forever recommend this to anyone wanting to broaden their horizons with a fresh survival horror experience. I haven't played the OG, so I can't say I prefer this over the original, but this remake undoubtedly piqued my interest.
Ghost of Tsushima is drop-dead gorgeous, no doubt about that. However, its open world was dull enough to kill any motivation I had to play after achieving the ending. It seems like this is the case with many as I have to agree with how "Ubisoft" this game feels throughout. I like Jin as a character though! Maybe I'll replay it in the future hoping my experience is better.
