I've never felt more like a snake. This is easily the perfect snake video game. Genuinely think it could only be better if it had like 2 more levels. The last couple were just knock-your-socks-off phenomenal. Not to undercut the rest of the game by any stretch. Just great stuff through-and-through. Do yourself a favor and play Snake Pass.

VERY good JRPG. They nailed combat in this one. Despite it being more or less exactly the same as every other Dragon Quest (and most JRPGs, thanks so it being the first), something about actually doing combat in DQ11 feels real good. I haven't been able to place my finger on what it is, but man did I like getting into fights. Act 1 is great stuff, some of my favorite in the series. Act 2 falters a bit at the start, but picks up fairly nice at the end. Act 3 is kinda just poopy dogwater that I think sucks. It feels extremely post-game of Pokemon-coded, if that makes sense. The music is fine but repetitive. The visuals are pretty, although I did use some graphics enhancing mods on this version because for some reason the Definitive Edition looks worse than the regular version? Tockington is cool as hell in concept but ultimately just kind of annoying to actually try and complete, which is unfortunate because it really is so, so cool. The way forging items in this game works is the best out of any crafting system I've ever seen and I hope more games that decide to have obnoxious crafting mechanics take a page out of DQ11's book, if they're dead-set on having obnoxious crafting.

Extremely fluid and fun. I'm definitely going to sink a lot of time into this one. I wish it were just slightly longer or had more to do, but they've already updated the game post official launch with more content so I'm sure that will come with time. Even still, what's here now is plenty fun. Cannot recommend enough.
