I think the core of what this game has is very solid and well made. Fun to just pick up and play with friends and has a good sense of humor about itself. I personally don't find any of the monster designs that compelling and thinks it reaches for the same brand of "mascot horror" that a lot of indie horrors go for in recent times
Goro Majima is my favorite character of all time but unfortunately this game just left me frustrated at so many moments. The story felt like it had so much padding, and the 5 hours of tutorials that is typical for an RGG game felt especially grueling in this one because of its shorter run time compared to mainline games in the series. The novelty of the ship combat also wore out a lot quicker than I thought it would, however the physical combat in this game felt very fluid, and I thought the madness mechanic was very fun, even if it made boss fights feel easy at times. Overall I think if I wasn't such a massive fan of the Yakuza series and especially Majima I would rate this game a bit lower, but I am biased.
P.S. i still platinumed this game even though the pirate colosseum made me want to blow my shit off smooth what is wrong with me
