at its worst when it’s being kind of emotionally manipulative video essay-like. think jacob geller or breadsword or patrick willems,, very knowing in a smug type of way of its own intelligence which is a little tiresome !!! but often this leans very far into metatextual narrative stuff which is sm fun. yall see the better man trailer where the monkey pop star guy says for the next two hours ur ass is mine?? essentially what this game is. it keeps u hostage for around a two hour runtime and keeps changing up the story at every moment and level. reminds me a lot of mystery-thriller type movies specifically shyamalan’s films where if u truly don’t care about the twist or even the narrative and it’s idiosyncrasies then ur just fully locked into caring about the craft and the form which is far more interesting usually. games suck lol
