Okay I’m jumping on the bandwagon how many of my 100 favorite-ish movies have you seen
❤️ i made my list ❤️ it's 175 bc i'm insufferable ❤️ & i snuck in some filmed theatre ❤️
I did 20 popular tumblr users' "Top 100/150 Movies" listicles and compiled the top 101 that reoccur frequently <3
yall it's not my fault if u think this is a bad sample it's literally compiled from the trending page of list challenges
Did one of these list things…would love to know how many y’all have seen! There’s a pretty decent mix of old and new, niche and popular so most of y’all should be able to say you’ve seen a few… ^_^
Tails checking in post Sonic 3
Stone made high tech glasses that help him in his work and also hide his tear soaked eyes
Hiiiiii getting in on the trend. Did you know it’s hard to think of 100 movies you love
it's endlessly frustrating and infuriating that no matter how many times ukrainian officials, news outlets, and ngos debunk and correct other people's false statements none of their voices will have the influence and outreach of an american podcaster. and yet they/we have to keep debunking and debunking and debunking and
quick reminder that everything russia’s doing to ukraine isn’t new. there were 170 governmental bans on ukrainian language in the last 150 years. most of ukrainian writers from the basic school literature curriculum were murdered or oppressed for speaking out for ukraine. an average person doesn’t have to know executed renaissance or the ems ukaz or forced russification or literally hundreds of similar precedents, but please do note that this all was a thing long before putin
I wish it was just the republicans, but in reality it's also a large porrion of online left saying the exact same thing.
not to be a killjoy but it's still crazy to me that it's considered mean to be like "maybe you should read / play / watch the source material before creating fanworks and diving into the fandom" bc every time i see somebody going "i havent played disco elysium or know anything about it tbh but uwu here's harry and kim kissing" idk maybe you should engage with it. maybe you should play the anti-capitalist surrealist game where you investigate the murder of a mercenary who led the gang rape of a foreign girl and process that for a bit? and then you can do cutesy mlm or whatever idc. but like at the absolute bare minimum you should understand what the source material involves otherwise we get the phenomenon of people joining a dragon age server and wanting content warnings for like, mage racism. like it's fine to ship and transform the genre into whatever but if you arent comfortable with discussions of the actual source content itself then maybe the fandom isnt for you and a different one is. peace and love.
yeah, like often when people criticized veilguard for basically removing the whole racism issue from the narrative some people said things like „its good bcs finally you dont hear slurs while playing the elf” and. whats the point then? grown up media involves grown up problems, not always handled well, but at least an attempt to handle it.
sorry i know im going a bit offtopic, but its so weird when people somehow try enjoying media like this without actually enjoying the media. And its so weird when things that are maybe not deep, but at least trying to handle more difficult topics like disco elysium (which, lets be honest, is one of the best games weve had) are getting downgraded to cutesy mlm. Not that you cant enjoy things your way (i also love me some cutesy shit) but if you want yaoi, watch a yaoi. If you want to engage with something that is a little bit more complicated, you have to be able to handle that. Or at least check whether whatever you’re trying to engage with wouldnt make you uncomfortable.
id also mention arcane here but this post would be too long.
LITERALLY ok tagging @redrook who played veilguard while I watched but this is the same thing they were saying, about how the creators started bending to the demands of a very vocal part of the fandom that wanted a sanitized version of the world, and the story/believability suffered as a result
