It also sought to determine the relationship between the two mentioned variables. The author utilized the descriptive-correlational research design coupled with documentary analysis. Respondent universities were Batangas State University, Cavite State University, Laguna State Polytechnic University, Southern Luzon State University and University of Rizal System. Documents pertaining to the status of MIS resources of the respondent universities were personally requested from concerned offices. Unstructured interviews were also done to sustain the data found in the documents. The author used the data found on CMO No. 60, series of 2007 to illustrate the productivity levels of the respondent universities in terms of instruction, research and community service. To uphold confidentiality in presenting the result of the study, the author coded the five SUs using the first five letters of the alphabet. The study revealed that University A and C obtained higher ranks among the five SUs in terms of MIS resources. University B was found out with no defined MIS/ICT organization. University A ranked first in instruction, research and community service. The five SUs obtained high scores in the instruction function. Universities B, C, D and E obtained low scores in research function. Universities C and E obtained low scores in the community service function. Other significant findings were; only the variable MIS/ICT projects showed a significant relationship with the variable community service and the other MIS resources variables used in the study had not shown significant relationship to the productivity of a SU. This paper concluded that the five SUs in Region IV-A had invested MIS resources to support their operations with varying degrees. SUs in Region IV-A advocated instruction, research and community service as their major functions with different levels. There was an indication that as the number of ICT projects increases, community service function improves. Generally, MIS resources had no effect in the productivity of a state university. "

State-owned higher learning institutions particularly in the Philippines are seen investing on this kind of technology. This paper examines the digital governance implementation and institutional performance of State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the Philippines. Data regarding digital governance are obtained from the respective website of each SUC through the use of a questionnaire. Websites are evaluated in terms of content, usability, services, citizen participation and privacy/security. Institutional performance is obtained through the CHED Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 60, series of 2007. A total of 107 SUCs are subjected in this paper. It is found out that digital governance in SUCs was on its early and middle stages of digital governance with focus on content and usability features. SUCs advocates instruction, research, extension and production as their major function...

Se... more Online stocks trading in the Philippines captures great attention among investors and traders. Several trading firms have established online portals which facilitate online trading. This paper evaluates the use of online trading portals. A developed questionnaire was utilized as an instrument to assess the use of the portals. A total of 62 valid responses are collected and subjected to statistical analyses. The study reveals that portal users are mostly male, young professionals, CitisecOnline (COL) financial clients and have limited experience in online trading. The portals are recognized to be useful, easy to use, beneficial, secured and within the control of users. The five variables namely perceived usefulness, ease of use, risk, benefit and behavioral control show slight to substantial positive correlations to each other. Users encountered minor problems which seldom occur while using the portal.

Data clustering is the process of grouping the data into classes or clusters, so that objects within a cluster have high similarity in comparison to one another but are very dissimilar to objects in other clusters. The increasing enrolment of students at Batangas State University (BatStateU) equates to increase of students' database which can be mined to discover patterns in large data sets. Patterns extracted can be converted to understandable information that can be useful to the organization. A popular data clustering algorithm known as Clustering Using Representative (CURE) was implemented using C# programming language to cluster the students' database of Batangas State University.

When used correctly, VLE may transform learning experience of students into a more enjoyable, satisfying and effective setting. This paper evaluated students' satisfaction on the use of VLE as a support technology in teaching students in the Graduate School. Procedures involved in the study include installation of a Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment (MOODLE) package, customizing the VLE and determining the students' satisfaction. The instrument used for data collection was the developed online questionnaire. A total of 67 Master of Business Administration (MBA) students of Batangas State University (BatStateU) enrolled in the course Management Control and Information System (MCIS) for the period of 2011-2013 served as the respondents of this study. This paper is the first attempt to investigate the satisfaction of air force officers on the use of Squadron Officer Course Virtual Classroom (SOCVC) in the Philippines. The popular Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment (MOODLE) was used to implement the SOCVC. A total of 47 Philippine Air Force (PAF) officers enrolled in the SOC participated in this study. Satisfaction in terms of learner interface, learning community, content and usefulness on the use of SOCVC was obtained using a questionnaire. The respondents are seen comfortable and satisfied with the use of the virtual classroom. Profile variables used in the study when taken separately do not show significant difference as to the respondents’ satisfaction on the use of the virtu...

It is a common practice by Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs) to redesign their teacher education programs from time to time to be more relevant in the needs of every school offering basic education. This study investigated the need to develop self-mastery skills among teacher education students at Batangas State University – College of Teacher Education. It dwelled on the concept of Morato [1] who enumerated the seven self-mastery skills namely, learning to think; learning to intuit; learning to feel; learning to do; learning to communicate; learning to lead; and learning to be. It was revealed that teachers acknowledge the need to develop the seven self-mastery skills among students. This study concluded with insights on how to improve teacher education practice in line with self-mastery.

Digital governance is seen being adopted by some SUCs as an innovative tool in learning, promoting citizen participation and advocating peace.

Positive attitude is exhibited on the use of VLE regardless of gender. On the other hand, young and experienced users of e-learning platforms tend to be difficult to satisfy with regards to the use of VLE.
