Not only evil toxic guys, but morally questionable chicks too: Sektor (impossible for her not to be a manipulative person pulling the strings behind the scenes in this reboot as well, as characters retain their essence from one timeline to the next), Nitara (the French version of the game has her saying she's had "stranger lovers" than Bi-Han, in a clumsy attempt to translate the phrase "stranger bedfellows"); his own mother... He's a ladies' man, a man's man, a mama's boy, no wonder his own father favored Kuai Liang and now the latter, his own brother, has taken to hating him (what about repressed jealousy?).
Because of his beauty, talent, strength, intelligence and charisma, he's an idol who attracts bad people who want to take advantage of him or simply put him down for being who he is: a free man who belongs to no one but himself and his followers. Not only because of this, but because of what he embodies and represents as well: he is (was) God/Liu Kang's right-hand man, the guardian on Earth of Kang's divine order, and a kind of Lucifer, too: the most beautiful of God's angels, fallen from Heaven because of his pride; because he couldn't stand the fact that Liu Kang valued ordinary humans more than the Lin Kuei themselves. In other words, Bi-Han is powerful. He is (again: was) the closest human being to God. And that's why Shang Tsung the Snake tempts him and makes him fall from grace. Bi-Han provokes envy for all these reasons.
i don't know what it is about evil toxic men and bi-han...
