If a history-based work is good and inaccurate it’s because it’s a piece of art that sacrificed some points of accuracy for the sake of storytelling and conveying themes deeper and more important than a straightforward recounting of facts. If it’s bad and inaccurate then that’s just another reason why it sucks
(never feel bad about doing this whether it’s to deepen the character, have fun, or build interesting headcanons! Even shit about what their favorite type of jelly bean is makes them feel more complex to you and that’s fun! GO NUTS!)
i think deep down I have a profound fondness for every character in ASOIAF because at the end of day, they are complexe characters building together this amazing story that means so much to me
