so as you might have guessed because I said I was camping in the woods to avoid getting sick:

someone in my household has covid unfortunately but we did manage to get them a Paxlovid subscription. they’re uninsured, and even GoodRx coupons only brought the cost down to $1,300 USD.

I thought to check the drug manufacturer website and quickly signed up online through its portal and received a pharmacy card by email that lowered the cost to $0

There are also options for insured patients to dramatically lower their copays. I’m in the U.S., and I’m unsure whether this is applicable elsewhere, but I wanted to share this info on access to potentially lifesaving medication, for anyone it may help!

A screenshot of a reply to a tweet. The first one reads as the following by @saroyahx: "Hospitals are overwhelmed, with people forced to bring beds from home or lay on the ground. This outbreak came after the RSF militia attacked the power station, cutting off the main water supply [and] forcing people to drink contaminated water. This is genocide." #KeepEyesOnSudan. The second tweet is from @SudanTribune_EN and it states: "A cholera outbreak in Kosti, White Nile State, southern Sudan, has rapidly escalated, with cases reaching 1,409 within three days, the Health Ministry said on Saturday."ALT

My friend, Randa, @rnd8, lives in Rwanda and she has been in the process of evacuating her family out of Sudan. Her elderly father and 3 sisters have successfully evacuated and reunited with her, but her two brothers who are left behind in Khartoum! Their lives are at risk. Not only they have to live through the extreme violence, but they can get infected! So please donate and share. We have 4 days to raise the entire amount since the fundraiser will close!

You can match me. I have given €10, but you’re more than welcome to give any amount!

Verification: Shared by Sara (@/BSonBlast on BlueSky, IG, Twitter, and TikTok), Jin (@/jinforjustice on IG), and @/northgazaupdates!

Donations are still open, though I’m unsure for how long. If you’re able, please donate before the campaign is closed! There’s still some time to reach the goal.

Physical media is really awesome but please don’t discount sites like Bandcamp where you can buy DRM-free digital media. Buying raw media files lets you:

- Store a collection of millions of songs on a single hard drive (or burn them to CDs yourself!)

- Directly support artists, even those without the time/clout/resources to sell physical media

- With 20 minutes of effort, share your media library with anyone, anywhere, as much as you want.

Giant publishing companies are trying *really hard* to convince everyone that digital media is synonymous with you-don’t-own-shit streaming services, eternal subscription fees, and locked-down snoopscope video players. But there’s a reason so many artists sell their works online without those catches. Go support them!

Are you an American? Do you love our nation’s national parks, our libraries, affordable health care, and essential checks and balances? DO YOU NOT WANT TO GO TO WAR WITH CANADA?

Fuck, are you just a European and you’re highly emotionally invested in what’s going on?

Well good news, help spread the news. Special elections April 1st and this is going to help break down the narrow majority Republicans hold on Congress.

Florida has two congressional seats up for election April 1st, and Wisconsin has a highly televised race for their supreme court Court that Elon Musk has invested millions into.

If you’re Floridian, check to see if you’re eligible to vote in either of the elections listed here.

If you’re a Wisconsinite, for some ungodly reasons about half of your election information is buried in Google and hidden amongst government websites but, find your polling place now.

From a group chat I’m in:

The Bureau of Land Management opened a rushed 5-day public comment period on a 103-page environmental assessment for an exploratory lithium mine on Paiute lands or so-called Southeastern Oregon. Please stand with People of Red Mountain who are asking folks to send comments opposing the mine, not because Trump’s BLM will stop it but because registering dissent is important for future legal proceedings.

Here’s a guide to help you send a comment: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IOoH8Atu6xJIlZSn389UuWz2mWM4vxEdgNz7U3ypW0w/edit?usp=sharing)
