I was diagnosed with severe anxiety and ADHD back in 2021. And I feel like I can confidently say that I also have high-functioning autism. And throughout the month, I’m going to be sharing videos I’ve come across that really resonate with me.

One of my favorite bits about Philip’s death is when he said “I was cursed with a terrible terrible sickness by dark magic, just like your mentor!”. In this show, Eda’s curse is a pretty obvious metaphor for disability and chronic pain. So in a small way, this is Philip trying to argue ‘I’m not evil! I became a monster because I was disabled! Just like Eda!” And nobody believed it for a split second. Sure Eda’s curse can cause problems, but it doesn’t make her an evil tyrant. It’s a stupid argument from a stupid man who refuses to take responsibility for his own actions, and the show treats it as such. It’s incredibly refreshing to see.
