Understanding of quality in teaching is at a quite early stage of development in many countries. In the review of the works of literature, it was found that there is no exact definition for quality teaching and that quality teaching is a combination of good teaching and successful teaching. Good teaching is the foundation for the idea of expertise as it is associated with the effectiveness of teaching behavior while successful teaching is wholly focused on the attainment of the learner. Again, student engagement in academics was designed to link good teaching and successful teaching. Quality teaching may differ from country to country and as such, policies geared towards teaching must be in line with quality and the role of the teacher to improve student performance.

A cross-sectional survey research method through a quantitative approach was used in exploring the psychological effects of burnout among health professionals. Through stratified and simple random sampling procedures, 150 health workers (90 from Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and 60 from Ridge Hospital) were sampled and responded to a standardized burnout questionnaire designed by Maslach (Maslach burnout inventory 2008). Frequencies, percentages, means, standard deviation, and t-test were used to analyze the data. The findings of the study rejected the hypothesis that experienced doctors will experience less burnout than inexperienced doctors. Again, the finding of the study indicated that there is an age barrier when it comes to burnout, thus, younger health workers experience burnout more than older health workers. The...

Consistent with this development is the client's participation in decisions regarding all aspects of the counselling relationship. Testing and assessment need to be included here. In this regard, clients need to realize that tests are no more than instruments for furnishing information about themselves, as well as a guide for the counselling process and future decision making. Ultimately, test use by counsellors must be seen as an adjunct to the entire counselling process. Test results provide descriptive and objective data which help the counsellor to assist clients better in making the choices that will affect their lives. In order to make the best use of available tests in a counselling relationship, the process of testing and the issues which surround the process must be examined.

Developing countries (especially African countries) being members of the international community are not spared from globalization and therefore these countries are exposed to both the positive and negative impacts of globalization. Globalization in the cutting-edge times has brought about expanded reliance among nations and in spite of the fact that the way of globalization holds the guarantee of advancement for all, it has been contended by numerous researchers that the effect of globalization on education is numerous. It can be argued that despite the fact that globalization awards numerous possibilities (in particular an expansion in capital streams), it also exposes many developing countries to many new challenges. Thus, the objective of education is moving farther away from the social, cultural, and scholarly satisfaction of students, and closer toward the monetary satisfaction of countries. Toward this path, universities and colleges are furnishing students with information that is fitting for current financial patterns. This paper seeks to address the impact of globalization on education as a blessing or a curse.

The rapid creation of computers has encouraged the use of computer model to explain learning, which is termed as the information processing approach, proposed by Atkinson and Shiffrin in the late 1960’s. Thus, the information processing approach is based on the apparent similarities between the operation of the human brain and that of the computer and this gives the implication that information processing approaches are concerned with the nature of the cognitive processes. The implications of the information processing approach or the stage theory for teaching Religious and Moral Education, should place emphasis on the design of the curriculum, that is experiencing what is being taught, focusing on the developmenta...

It explains how 15 students of Professor Michael A. Peters, each writing 500-word essays, were able to create a unique and diverse dialogue on international student mobility. By being reliant on numerous perspectives, this dialogue offered a more holistic outlook on recent disruptions to international education and international students. Thus, the dialogue offered a collective approach to knowledge production within a knowledge socialist pedagogy.

A classic case is the movement of students from Ghana to China, with the number of students studying in China reaching up to 6,500 and Ghana ranking first (in student migration to China) among African countries for four consecutive years. Ghana's bond with China, however, goes beyond education to social and economic connections. The over-arching aim of the review is to provide readers with comprehensive information on education in the two countries. This review is not an attempt to evaluate or judge the quality of education in either China or Ghana, but to provide valuable understandings of the driving forces, which have wrought the outcomes and inputs of their educational system, and to offer a clear direction on impending needs and obstacles that both nations faced in their educational journey. The review comparably highlights the educational flight of both nations emphasizing the educational reforms, policies, and structures. In conclusion, this paper highlights the essence for Chinese and Ghanaian administrative governments to take charge of strengthening and refining their present educational policies and not altering and introducing new policies that may be irrelevant in the development of education.

Contributions have been collected over 6 weeks between 15 February and 1 April 2020, edited by Hejia Wang (assisted by Moses Oladele Ogunniran and Yingying Huang), and supervised by Michael Peters. Through shared in-depth empirical feelings and representations from a wide variety of cultural, historical, and social contexts, the article outlines an answer to the question: How do students, connected virtually but separated physically in an internationalized university, deal with disruption brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic? Student testimonies offer reflections on Covid-19 and Chinese international education, experiences of online teaching and learning, reflections on university coping mechanisms, an account of realities and feelings related to changes in academic life, and discussions on coping strategies in Chinese international higher education. Contributors expose their individual feelings, effects, benefits, challenges, and risk management strategies. Collected at the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic, these testimonies are unable to offer systemic answers to challenges facing the whole world. However, these experiences and feelings will provide important inputs to global discussions about the future of the world, after Covid-19.

The study concluded that as burnout was closely related to age and experience as a more source of stress and burnout among doctors, management and staff of the health institution must consider appropriate measures to alleviate job stress and burnout.

Information and communication technology (ICT) have become an important tool in today's information age, making a remarkable influence on the lives of individuals around the globe. Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have become within a very short time, one of the basic building blocks of modern society. The study investigated pre-service teachers' perspectives on the use of ICT in Berekum College of Education. The study examined the types of technologies pre-service teachers' use. The study determined the ways preservice teachers' use technologies to support their learning. Convenient sampling and random sampling techniques were used to select the sample size of thirty (30) pre-service teachers from the college. The study revealed that all the participants got access to technology on campus. Again, all the participants did say the accessible technologies have been very helpful. In addition, the study indicated that respondents use the accessible technologies for research, emailing, assignment writing, presentation and chatting. However, the findings of this study will enable policy formulators to be clear with the ICT policy and its direction of implementation with the necessary guidelines so that the implementation agents like Ghana Education Service, Ministry of Finance among others can help to make a reality since competency in ICT is the modern way of acquiring critical skills and knowledge effective and efficient economic development.

Therefore, classroom assessment, comprehended as the procedure in which students’ reactions to spontaneous activities are
used to draw inferences about their knowledge and skills assumes a significant role in education. In higher education, students’ learning is more impacted by their originations of the instructive condition than by the real instructive practices. In China, which has a long history of examination-oriented education, an assessment reform
in basic and higher education was kicked off by the Ministry of Education as part of the New Curriculum Reform in 2001. This paper reviews literature on students’ upheld conceptions of assessment and then reports a study into Chinese students’ conception of assessment. Literature reviewed revealed that students conceive of assessment in
at least four major ways (i.e., assessment makes students accountable; assessment is irrelevant because it is bad or unfair; assessment improves the quality of learning; and assessment is enjoyable). The findings of the study also indicated that students conceive assessment as being for improvement of learning and assigning grades.

These disadvantages and deficiencies have seriously hindered the development of the education of foreign students in China. To improve the quality of international students in China, colleges and universities must carry out curriculum reform and strengthen the construction of teachers. The government and society must also play their respective roles in formulating long-term policies. It is expected to have a clear international education development strategy, establish the quality standards of education and teaching for international students in China, and establish the trinity of government, society and universities. Thus, the educational quality assurance system must be established to realize effective monitoring.

Non-Communicable Diseases NCDs are chronic conditions and as such takes a toll on the family and the community. In Ghana, NCDs are attributed to supernatural causes, hence this study was done to assess people's knowledge and perception on NCDs, factors that influence their health seeking behaviours and how their religious beliefs affect the treatment of NCDs. The descriptive survey design through the quantitative approach was used in the study. Through stratified and random sampling procedures, a sample of 386 respondents were selected from Ayawaso District of Ghana. A questionnaire designed (in relation to literature) was used to gather data for the study. The gathered data was analysed based on the research questions, using descriptive statistics (frequency and percentage) and pearson product moment correlation. The findings of the study indicated that majority of the respondents have knowledge on NCDs, they first seek for the causes and treatment of the NCDs and there is a weak positive significant correlation between religion and seeking early intervention of NCD. Recommendations were made to contribute to optimizing the management of NCDs in the Ayawaso district of Ghana.
