Thinking of remaking my blog..
i’m so tired of having hundreds of inactive blogs following me, or people who followed me like 10 years ago or of having tumblr try to tell ppl i still post about marvel

It really is insane how many people engage with art on a pure enjoyment level. Theyll go to a movie and the only deciding factor on whether or not they liked it is "was i bored or confused during that 90-120 minutes?" Youll talk to people about a book or show or film you both enjoyed and theyll have absolutely nothing to say about how it made them feel, or what they think it was trying to impart to them. It begins and ends at "it was fun to watch/read" it drives me nuts
being self aware suuuucks like yeah this thought pattern/behavior is stupid and pointless and a symptom. i know this. [does it anyways
the thing is in hindsight i do think the hipster vs fandom blog dichotomy was a completely real and true phenomenon because to this day i will come across a social media post, youtube video, trend forecast article, etc that namedrops "2013 tumblr" and with the absolute bare minimum of context clues you can IMMEDIATELY tell whether they had a soft grunge blog or whether they were yelling about their ovaries exploding in the reblogs of a benedict cumberbatch gifset and it is ALWAYS one of those two extremes
In 2025 you have to fag it up as much as possible. Goth it up also. Godspeed. Gothspeed, even.
when i was younger i used to believe that you could make anyone understand anything if you explained long enough and hard enough but then one time i said "who would have thunk it" to a classmate in college and she turned to me with such sincere disgust on her face and said "it's who would have thought" and i took five seconds to contemplate how i could possibly convey to her why i said it that way and i came up empty and that was the first crack in the windshield
There are soooo many people still fixated on trying to prove that these people are nazi’s when i believe that is besides the point atp. People just aren’t scared to identify as nazi’s anymore so pointing it out isnt going to change anything
David Lynch just passed. If everyone could spend the next few weeks becoming a little more offbeat, a little more in touch with the strangeness of our world, maybe we could begin to replace the massive void he leaves. We may not see another artist like him reach prominence within our lifetimes, so please go out and search, in the world and in yourself. Embody the truth, lead with love, hold the hands of those outstretched to you, and go as far as you can, no matter how deep and how dark, face it with love.
